Title: Glass bottle soda information
Post by: dr galaga on December 24, 2005, 01:32:38 am
I am working on a web site that will have information about US bottlers that still package in glass.  I am concentrating on the smaller regional/local bottlers and not the products that can be bought nationwide (like 8 oz. Coke and Jones Soda, just to name a few).

Here are my notes: http://www.mr-barber.com/soda/glassbottlers.swf

Any additions/corrections?  Anyone have pictures I can use?  PM me or email me at this address: soda(at)mr(dash)barber(dot)com

Here is a Sundrop bottler than offers shipping on-line. they offer 6 brands all with cane sugar and at $19.99 for a 24 count case.  Sundrops are very strong and very high in caffeinefound mostly in the South.  This is my first time so I hope this is the correct way.

Thanks guys.  The list has been updated.

I was looking at the Nectar site and it's available at a few places in the next county over.  I hear a mini-road trip calling me! :D

Please keep the additions coming - I know that there are plenty more out there.

Wow Lance, you are bringing some interesting items to the table.  I had no idea that they started to produce Triple X Root Beer in bottles (last time I was in there was a few years ago).   Too bad my class this up coming semester is at a regional campus and not at the main campus of Purdue.  Next time I'm down there (two hour commute each way) I'll have to pick some up since it's just a few blocks from campus.

I will be in the area in august and will be stopping to pick some Triple X up.

I also just remembered Ale 8 is available in 12 ounce glass bottles. Here is their website Ale 8 :drinking: Ale 8 is much better out of the glass bottles than from a can.

Also Apple Beer is in glass too. click here

Hello to all and thank you guys for leting me into this forum. Anyhow I know this has something to do with what you guys are talking about, well maybe just a little.

Living so close to the Mexican border, I get 12 oz. sodas over there. Almost all major brands. It $7.35 for a case of 24 if you have retunes or $22.00 if you don't. What I like about the bottles is the taste of the soda. I think they still use cane suger. It does take anywhere from 10 min to 1 hour to cross over since 911 but it's worth it.

Nope, never heard of Oregeon Trail Beverage.  Googled and found nothing (except someones bottle list).  Probably just a small bottler that closed many years ago.  A few months ago I found a bottle that was bottled here in my hometown.  No one has heard of the company.  I guess I'll see what the library has to say...
