Title: Ideal machine coin mechanism Post by: game1cock on December 21, 2005, 06:18:20 pm I'm attempting restoration of my first Ideal 55,,,,, trying to get the coin mechanism off of the machine......how is it fastened at the top of the machine? and is it easy to get to?

Can't swear all are this way as I only one I have had been modified. The coin box was mounted on a reinforcing "plate". The coin box had bolts that went through the plate and had nuts on the inside which were accessed by taking the liner out. Hope this helps. If you have the "hightop" version Ideal, you first remove the coinbox. Then you will see and remove 2 screws holding the cover on. Lift the cover up and off and look for the screws holding it to the re-enforcement plate. If you have one of the lower profile mech.s.......just get the cover to swing open for removal.
