Title: Square top Post by: on December 09, 2005, 07:33:13 pm I bought an old soda machine and was wondering if anyone has any info on it, or where I can find info like year, who made it, value. Its a 7 up machine that holds bottles. Has a name tag on it, S-V CO's Model 2A. It's in very good condition. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of it.
THANKS, WETDIRT Title: Square top Post by: on December 09, 2005, 10:25:21 pm I went back to the main page and selected the soda machines button. Took a chance that sv stood for selectivend. Found a model 1a listed. Might this be a place for you to start?
Title: Square top Post by: dr galaga on December 09, 2005, 10:29:30 pm I'm guessing it's a Selectivend. Sorry, can't tell you much more about it. On the main page you can select Soda Machines and it has information on a lot of them up until the mid 70's. Does it look a little bit like this:
This is a Selectivend 1-A. Here's the page on it, but you will not find much info: Selectivend 1-A Try to get some pictures of it and send them to Jim so that he can get them on the site. Oh yea, welcome to the site! Looks like it took me about 4 minutes to make my post! Title: Square top Post by: bubba on December 09, 2005, 10:30:44 pm I saw that too, but then another company had a 3A machine, so I didn't know how accurate that would be.:O
Title: Square top Post by: on December 09, 2005, 10:45:27 pm It has a door on the right side where you grab the bottles
Title: Square top Post by: dr galaga on December 09, 2005, 11:10:01 pm Didn't Selectivend chop up other manufacturer's machines and put their name on them?
Title: Square top Post by: loman4ec on December 09, 2005, 11:35:15 pm They only did that on round tops. When they went to square tops they contracted vendo to build their machines for them. Wetdirt describe you machine some more. What brand is it? How tall? How many selection? and anything else you can get from it.
Title: Square top Post by: on December 10, 2005, 02:29:21 am I'm not sure of the dimensions. I'm supposed to pick it up this afternoon.
Thanks, Wetdirt Title: Square top Post by: loman4ec on December 10, 2005, 10:39:01 am If I may ask where did you buy it? It wasn't in Arkansas was it?
Title: Square top Post by: on December 10, 2005, 03:23:49 pm I bought it at the local western auto store that's going out of business. Illinois
Title: Square top Post by: on December 10, 2005, 06:03:47 pm I paid 75 bucks for it is it a good price?
Title: Square top Post by: dr galaga on December 10, 2005, 08:29:12 pm Just about any machine that works is worth more than $75.
You're killin' us. Give us some pictures when you get it home! Title: Square top Post by: loman4ec on December 10, 2005, 08:31:07 pm That is a great deal. I was asking about arkansas because I know a guy selling a 7up SV and was wondering if you bought it. The selectivends are great machines but really hard to find parts for. Just make sure it is complete.
Title: Square top Post by: on December 11, 2005, 03:32:50 am I'll post pictures when I get the machine home. The guy I bought it from can't find the key, but there is a local guy that used to be a 7 up distributer that said he has a box of old keys. He says one wiil probably fit it.
Thanks, Wetdirt Title: Square top Post by: loman4ec on December 11, 2005, 11:15:28 am If he wats to get rid of any of those keys let me know. I collect keys for soda machines.
Title: Square top Post by: on December 14, 2005, 10:23:18 pm Turns out the guy has no keys.:(
Title: Square top Post by: on December 14, 2005, 10:29:25 pm I found a picture of one exactly like it.
Title: Square top Post by: Jim on December 15, 2005, 07:32:22 am Andrew,
Nice little machine! $75 is a deal if it's not a rust-bucket. When you can post photos of yours, please do! Additionally, if you didn't mind, would you allow me to use your photo(s) in the Soda Machines Section...? Title: Square top Post by: on December 19, 2005, 10:03:28 pm
