Title: Vendo 83 value question
Post by: loman4ec on November 23, 2005, 01:01:16 pm
I have a chance to buy 5 vendo 83's. Two are complete but rusted out and three are good restorable machines. None of them cool. The price is right but they are about 400 miles from me. What I am wondering is if it is worth my time to get these. How has everyones experience been with these. I know they aren't in real demand. I can get them all for $300. Any advice?

The small slug rejectors and bottle opener bezels are the only common Vendo parts.

but are three complete restorable machines woth $300. I figure selling the parts from the other two should pay for the gas for the trip. I am getting used to traveling all over the country so the drive really doesn't bother me. Besides I might just have to visit the coke museum while I am there.

Who knows! If you looking to resell it could be worth the trip. I had a straight one that cooled. Put it on ebay and a dentist bought it for his office in Florida. $800 for the machine an he added to the cost by having his shipper come and get it. All this happened before 9/11. Seems prices dropped on everything. There's one in bad shape in St. Louis that is on Ebay. Watch that auction ti give you an ideal.   http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage....iewItem   Here's another, http://cgi.ebay.com/Origina....iewItem and 1 more, http://cgi.ebay.com/Vendo-8....iewItem

Thanks I will watch those. Joey might go in on them with me so that will help with the $$$. I have made arrangements with some of the local antique shops to put machines in them for 20% commission. That isn't too bad.
