Title: Guessing a general value? Post by: on November 04, 2005, 12:57:49 pm I have an unrestored cavalier cs72 Coca Cola machine (sorry, no pic right now). It has raised letters at top right saying "Drink Coca Cola", has the decal of a large hand holding a Coke on the front of the money change mechanism box, the red circle that lit up and the glass door on left side.
Haven't plugged it in lately, but it did run last year, just didnt cool. One guy who buys these machines to restore and sell on ebay for thousands of dollars is telling me it 'might' be worth around 900.00 to him if I pay the shipping to get it to him. Doesn't sound like a good deal to me, but I don't know. Any experienced collectors out there can give a newbie an idea if this is a fair offer? Thanks. Title: Guessing a general value? Title: Guessing a general value? Post by: Eric on November 04, 2005, 03:34:30 pm A friend of mine sold a solid, all there, unrestored 72 on eBay for $1500 this past spring and
it went to Canada.... They sent a truck and picked it up at his house here in Missouri all he did was strap it to a pallet. Eric Title: Guessing a general value? Post by: on November 04, 2005, 03:51:38 pm Thankyou also, Eric, at least I am getting some good info and ideas. Thanks guys.
Title: Guessing a general value? Post by: loman4ec on November 04, 2005, 04:28:02 pm I just sold a 96 which is just a taller version than the 72 for $1300 on ebay. The 96 is also less popular than yours. It depends on the condition of your machine as well as if it works and is complete. The book value for an average condition origional cavalier 72 is $1,050. You can fugure shipping to run somewhere between $200 and $400 depending on where it is going. I am shipping a machine from Miami fl to Memphis Tn next week via North American van lines for $333.
Title: Guessing a general value? Post by: on November 04, 2005, 04:34:30 pm I am so glad I found this website! All of you have been most helpful, as I was getting frustrated digging thru the 'net and not really getting any true insight...mostly I found links to buy the books to find out anything useful. Good to know there is a site like this with good people onboard. Thanks again
