Title: Trip photos

At the end of August we took my son down to my parents' house in SW Virginia. It is between a 3 1/2 and 4 hour drive. I thought it might be cool to take pics of the things I see on the way and share. I didn't get photos of everything, but here are some of "the sights".

The first shows a Pepsi machine that is unplugged. I was able to open the door and check out the inside.

The Westinghouse Select-O-Vend I saw at the last second (one of those snap the neck moves) as we were just about to go past a thrift shop. It was out front and was for sale with a faded price tag that we thought read $78.00.?. Of course it was Sunday and they were closed.

I have posted these pumps before.

The second picture is of the back of an old general store that has a pretty cool porcelain grocery sign across the bottom. I don't know if you can see it. Who knows what is inside?

We were traveling from Northern VA to Bedford County. Their house is about 40 minutes from Lynchburg.

Here is a pump that may not be very old, but I thought it was kind of cool.

I have other photos, but I have to change them to jpg.

These were at the same place. The Dr Pepper machine was "sold".

This sign was outside some type of shop that is closed. There may be an apartment with it.

Squaretop in front of an antique shop. The front door was pried. I don't remember the $, but most things were high.

Cool idea! Thanks for taking time on your trip to take theses images, letting us know
what is still out there and in some cases, STILL being used!

Thanks
Eric

Great pictures, that's a really neat idea. I think the next time I take a road trip, I'll do the same.

Yeah, I thought it would be neat. There were other pumps and signs in the area that I didn't get photos of because at the time I didn't have the camera with me.

This place looks interesting.  Drove by it yesterday. Hopefully it shows up in the pic.  Some pumps are hiding behind the trees and there was more "stuff"  across the street.  Looked like nobody was around, so I might check it out this summer.
