Looks like it's coming along great! That looks like a great paint job, what brand/type of paint do you use? Title: Vendo Post by: MCarter on September 08, 2005, 09:56:04 am I used a Dupont Centria Base Coat and then Clear Coat. I am going to Letter it Tonight after a few drinks..... Look at my next project.
Title: Vendo Post by: Kevin C on September 08, 2005, 11:07:39 am Hey
It looks great. How are you going to paint the embossed lettering? We are in need of some tips. Kevin Title: Vendo Post by: MCarter on September 08, 2005, 01:15:57 pm with a Squirrel Hair Brush....And a few mixed drinks. Using One step white paint. After its done i will clear coat the whole thing one more time. Then start putting it back together. I'll keep you guys posted.

Wow! That lettering looks great!! And you say that was after a few drinks? I'm currently getting my Cav 55D painted at Auto Body Specialists right next to Hinkle's and around the corner from Kliendorfers. I'm having them use the Dupont Centari that I bought. I can only hope that it turns out as good as your machine did. You listed in the white pages here? Some weekend we oughta get together and hoist up a few cold pop's! Do you hire out your painting/lettering skills ever? Man, I'd much rather have painted embossing than decals.... Title: Vendo Post by: MCarter on September 08, 2005, 10:01:10 pm I know it might sound stupid but i charge 65.00 per hour to do it. I know which body shop you are using. What are they charging u? Kinda interested?
Title: Vendo Post by: BrianB on September 09, 2005, 06:45:18 am I did all of the body work and primed/sanded it. That being said, they are charging me $300 to shoot another coat of primer on the body, door and, all other small parts (about 10 peices) Then they will seal it and shoot the Dupont Centari and have it all done in approx. 3 days.
So, I estimated prior to dropping the machine off that they would expend about 5 man hours and that their labor rate would be about $60, so I was pretty much right on the money. Considering they have the expertise, the facilities and the right tools, not a bad price if you ask me. Title: Vendo Post by: Creighton on September 09, 2005, 12:27:22 pm Great job Matt!!
