Title: Estimate the value Post by: on August 28, 2005, 08:31:38 pm I found a Vendo Model F83b5w serial F108128883 manufactured date August 1951. It has 7 cents on it, but a 10 cents slot was added. It is in rough to good condition. Very few parts or missing, very little rust but needs some body work on it.(I would thank a few minor parts or missing) The coin box and bottle cap holder are with it. Found alot of caps that are cork lined. I don't have the time to restore it so I was wondering what the value as is would be. It looks very close to a Vendo V-83 electric. The round bottle holder and evaporator and compressor are all there. I would appreciate any help on this machine.

Title: Estimate the value Post by: on October 05, 2005, 12:45:13 am tlh54,
So am I right that it's a V-83 with the distinctive "honeycomb" drum inside? If so, they are not very desirable or valuable because: 1) They are big and heavy 2) They can only vend one flavor 3) They can only hold the 6.5/8 oz. bottles and unlike other models, this one can't be changed to hold longer bottles. But despite those widely held beliefs, I own one and actually like it because the honeycomb style is different than any other model and because I believe in collecting at least one of each model out there. But please post photos so that we can determine value. Thanks. Title: Estimate the value Post by: on October 05, 2005, 12:47:33 am

Hello & welcome to the site, From what I can tell from all of my Vendo sales literature, there isn't/wasn't any such model listed (VF-165) at this point a picture will help in identifying you machine. It might help also if you decribe the machine too. Does it have a glass door were you remove the soda's? or a drop-chute were the sodas get delivered (like a modern machine) does it vend bottles or cans? does it have rectangular button(s) to select the flavor of soda? some machines could vend both botlles or 12 oz. cans & shared the same chassis, but would have different capacities/model no.s depending on if they were set up to vend botlles or cans, for example a 1966 V-125 could also vend cans, in which case it would have be called a V-185 Pictures speak a thousand words...I can't stress that enough. hope we can help you ID your machine...JohnieG |
