Creighton Title: Icy-o Post by: johnieG on August 13, 2005, 07:53:45 am Hello & welcome to the site!
it's a seldome seen Icy-O countertop model, as you've said, paraphrasing from Jeff Walters 3rd edition field referance guide, page 19. "This was Icy-O's answer for those stores that didn't have enoogh floor space for their large "tub-type" vendor. It is not coin-operated, but rather a self-service cooler. The glass door let the customer view the sodas inside, then open the door and pull out his/her selection, this cooler is made out of metal and finished to look like wood. Notice that the "Coca~Cola" logo was applied in gold! (leaf) These are very, very rare." specs: capacity: 48 bottles (one case/24 in reserve) size: 26" high x 34" wide x 23" deep. this counter-top cooler used Ice to cool the sodas, and was produced in the late 1920's. nice find! Definately a cooler worthy of restoration as these are very rare! I would also like to use a couple of photos for the Icy-O Soda Machine Section with your permission...
