A friend of mine picked up a Dixie-Narco machine, model # DNTC-350-10, serial # 0085 2755 C1.  I think this machine is from the 80s, but just a guess.  I can hear both cooling fans kick on, but only one for a short time.  The machine does not cool at all.  Does this sound like a low coolant issue?  If so, how would you go about recharging the system?  Any ideas would be helpful.

Could be many things. You should probably spend a little time and read some of the topics in this section of the forum.
For starters:
*Which fan turns off - the one inside, or the one by the compressor?
*When both fans are running, is the compressor running?  You may want to wear a glove, but touch it to see if it is vibrating.

Start there and report back - also post a pic so that we can see exactly what model it is.

Dennis,

I sent you an e-mail. One thing I ment to ask, is the lower condenser a standard tube and fin coil or is it the newer, lint free, flow thru design? I have both in stock so no worries. It's an easy job to pull and replace. Should take about 10 minutes or so.

Thanks for the replies.  I have to go back and check a couple of things on the machine before I can narrow the information you gave me down.
