Title: Temperature
Post by: on August 06, 2005, 07:59:01 pm
What is the temperature the thermostat should cut off at? I have a CSS141G,CSS-64Jand a CSS96J. Should it get in the 30's? I also have a big C6 390 and it seems to stay at around 40 all the time.
                              Thanks for any help

Eric from Global Compressors said this a few weeks ago:

I tell all of my customers to run their machines around 38 - 42 degrees. This way it cuts back on condensation, less wear and tear on the compressor, and it used less electricty.

So your answer is yes and no!

Tommy - the cut-off depends on where you have it set.  If you have a numbered dial on the t-stat it'll be very evident but many of the machines have a screw driver slot with no numbers.  There is also another setting that controls the sensitivity on temp that controls when it kicks back on (see this link)
