Title: Fan motor

All,

I have torn down my VMC 56 can machine and figured I'd replace the fan motors while I was in there.  There is a little, flat clip that seems to thread on the shaft of the fans to hold the blades on.  Is removing this just an exercise in patience with a pair of needle nose (and some knuckle skin) or is there an easier way?

Hello

I use a pair of channel locks. Just open them one notch to get it started, then use your fingers.

Wayne...the shaft is threaded and that is just a nut. Hold the fan blade and unthread the nut with a pair of pliers

Wayne - if patience isn't one of your virtue's you can pinch the top ends tight together and the clip will slip off.  Then replace with a new clip (Ace, HD or Lowes al have them).

Hey

Your new fan motor will come with a new clip.
