I will be traveling to Anchorage next week for ten days to visit my son, he is in the USAF and will be deployed to the persian gulf (Kitar, not sure on the spelling) next month. Does anyone know of any cool places in that area?

Ok, I suppose you've already been there and back, and I haven't been around near long enough to be the resident smart alec, but I can't resist.

It's Alaska. Isn't it all cool?

We're planning a trip there next summer.  Any suggestions, Terry?

The Whittier ice glacer's are awesome to see, there are camp grounds located below the glacer's. Denali, I here is a great place to visit as well, unfortunately I didn't get to go there ( ran out of time). If you like fishing try Seeward, Homer or Kenai. If your feeling Barbaric take in the Alaska fighting championships (ultimate fighting in Anchorage) these guy's and gal's beat the crap out of each other. Local antique shops are expensive and there sign's, etc. are normally in rough condition. :)
