Anybody know what this model is worth? Also could anyone pick up and ship this to San Jose, CA. Apollo Pinball Machine (eBay) Thanks a bunch!! Creighton Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: dr galaga on July 19, 2005, 04:21:57 pm According to my 2002 Mr. Pinball Price Guide, it is worth $625 (there were 3,100 machines produced).
Looks like a cool game - is there something special to you about Apollo, or are you just looking for an electro-mechanical pin? Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: Creighton on July 19, 2005, 04:28:45 pm Thanks for the quick response!!
Big fan of anything rockets/Moon program related. Creighton Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: on September 07, 2005, 01:41:58 am
Wondering if you would share what your guide has to say about a 1966 (?) game called "Cross Town" Thanks. Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: BrianB on September 07, 2005, 06:50:14 am Creighton,
If you are pretty serious about getting that particular pinball machine, you should definitely ask some more probing questions into the quality of the game. Things like, does it fully work, what condition is the playfield in, what condition is the backglass (Is there flaking of paint), has the pin been recently "shopped" (or ever!). I am 99% done refurbishing a 1969 Gottlieb Airport and have some newly gained insight into the world of EM pinballs! So, if you have any questions or need any info concerning parts or anything else, give me a holler! Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: joesquid on September 07, 2005, 08:36:36 am Brian,
You're just a Jack-of-all-Trades aren't you? What other pinballs do you have? I want to get an EM pinball but need to clear out some coke machines first. Also trying to find one that's not "suggestive" as I have youngsters that would be playing the game. Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: BrianB on September 07, 2005, 11:14:08 am Joe -
Jack-of-all-trades? I just like.....stuff! I have always been enamored by anything older and mechanical. One of my co-worker's has a 1976 Gottlieb "Spirit of 76" in his basement and after I played it and had a chance to look under the playfield and in the backbox, I was hooked!!! All of the coils and switches, the score reels and of course the noisy brass bells! There are quite a few EM games that don't have any scantily clad women or any suggestive sayings/motto's. One place to check other than Ebay for pinball machines is The Pinball Classifieds. If you do happen to find one on Ebay or another venue and are curious about who made it or how many were made, another great resource is The Internet Pinball Database. It's pretty much all inclusive and usually at least a few good pictures accompany the periodical listing so that you can get a better idea of what the machine looks like. The one good thing that I've found is that the Ebay listings more often than not include a photo of the playfield and the backglass. Let me know if you have anyother questions! Creighton Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: on September 07, 2005, 12:31:15 pm Hi all,
What a coincidence... I happen to be selling an electro-mechanical pinball machine on eBay right now. It is "Quarterback" by Bally from 1975. It fully works and is in EXCELLENT condition. It's not easy finding non-suggestive pinball machines, so I liked that this one was family-safe. I hate to sell one of my cool, old pin machines, but I just bought an old SkeeBall machine and I have to make room for that huge game by moving something out. I am sad to see it go. Check it out here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....7391665 And since I was SO pleased with North American Van Lines (thanks Brent) I would probably use them to freight it. Anyway, just had to chime in. ~Markito Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: dr galaga on September 07, 2005, 05:43:24 pm Trew- I'll check tomorrow for you - working late tonight!

Argh! They block ebay here at my new job! Oh my, it contains inappropriate material and my IP address & user name have been logged. Think I'll click the link a few more times! Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: dr galaga on September 07, 2005, 10:14:36 pm Cross Town. Released September 1966, 2,765 produced and has an average value of $975. The book also says that this pin is "significantly collectible."
You got my interest, so I had to find a pic. Here's a pic for everyone (from the Internet Pinball Database http://www.ipdb.org/ ). Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: on September 10, 2005, 06:30:29 pm Thanks, Doc. I understand the reason it's significantly collectable is that the those dark subway doors on the backglass are animated, they open on the right play. Meh, ok, I paid an significanlty collectable price, but the game was shopped by a pro, is in great shape, and will be delivered 150 miles. It's all good.
Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: joesquid on September 11, 2005, 05:32:24 am KITO!!!!! Okay....THAT'S IT!!! Somehow I'm going to find a way to talk the Navy into creating a Great Lakes fleet (in case we're invaded by Canada ) then I'm going to get transferred to this fleet solely to be able to come play with all your neet stuff!!!!!

I watched a history programme not that long ago about a plan the US had in the 1950's for just that eventuality. Then even had a contingency plan for Invading Canada. Apparently caused all osrts of problems when the Canadians found out. Dave. Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: dr galaga on September 11, 2005, 11:40:38 am
'Kito must be getting a new army of games or something. It seems like he has been getting rid of most of his games . Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: on September 11, 2005, 08:04:26 pm
Yep, just got this and set it up yesterday. I LOVE it! And finally one that my wife likes too! I even bought 5,000 SkeeBall tickets (on eBay for just a few bucks), so my new game even doles out the strips of tickets for people when they score well! Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: dr galaga on September 11, 2005, 08:07:46 pm Cool! I sure hope that thing broke down in to smaller pieces for the trip downstairs.

Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: on September 11, 2005, 09:07:43 pm http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....IT&rd=1
It was agood deal, all others I have found in my area have been over $1,000. It did break down into smaller pieces, but they still barely fit down to my basement. So I am selling the pinball machine to recoup the cost. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....IT&rd=1 I hate to sell a neat old pinball machine, but in addition to needing the money, I had to sell it to clear enough space for the SkeeBall machine in the gameroom. So far with a few days left, my pinball machine has gone up to $510. I'm pleased. Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: on September 13, 2005, 07:56:00 am
5,000 tickets? I think that means you win a Motley Crue t-shirt. Title: Fair price apollo pinball machine? Post by: on September 13, 2005, 08:17:55 am

I thought about doing an instructor tour there once.....once. Then the fog lifted from my brain and I thought in horror, "WHAT AM I DOING???" Been there twice already and that was twice too many.....of course had I known Kito back then things would probably have been better!! Then again, I did meet my wife while stationed there so I guess it wasn't all bad. Still need a Great Lakes Fleet though....pesky Canadians you know.
