Hello everyone. New guy here. I just bought a WH22T today. Wondering if anyone is familiar with this model. I will need some parts and wanted to know if it shares parts with the WD22.

I'd check with Steve at Fun-Tronics..... under suppliers here... Looks like you're missing the cap catcher.... which I believe is reproduced.
Looks solid... how's the lids? That is the ultimate patio party cooler!

Thanks Eric.....its in better shape than most of the ones I've seen in the past. The inside is in good shape also. I plugged it in and the condenser fan came on but the compressor didn't. I found some broken wires down there. I'll have to check that out further next weekend. I'll check into that cap catcher. Its also missing the rear cover that goes over the condensor/compressor area. I think I got a really good deal on this one.

Nice! welcome to the board, Yes, some of the the common parts are the compressor-deck, lids, cap-catcher, handles, hinges, etc. does yours have stainless steel liner inside? or galvanized? these coolers look so cool two-tone! please post some inside pictures too!...

Thanks for the welcome. It has galvanized liners. I'll have to wait until next weekend to take some inside pictures. I work away from home during the week.

Home for the weekend. I'll take some more pictures tomorrow of the inside. I also plan to plug it in and do some checking. I plugged it in briefly last Monday before I left and the condenser fan came on but not the compressor or evap fan. I noticed some bare spots on the cord near the compressor and the relay was unplugged. I also noticed on the top of the evap enclosure there is an electrical part with two terminals sticking up. What is that? Is there suppose to be a fuse or something between those terminals?

you're correct Josh, it's the shaft of the thermostat, the indicator knob is missing.

ohhh.ok..It looked like something went between the tabs. So the whole thing is suppose to turn. Thanks

Yep its a thermostat of some kind but it doesn't have a shaft for a knob to go on. I took the two screws out that held it in place and on the side it has two adjustment screws. Cut in and cut out. The two tabs came off when I detached it from the sheetmetal. They don't look like they are part of it.

Went out in the garage and worked on the cooler some today. Had to make a new power cord so I could see if it worked. Plugged it in and the compressor kicked on for a split second then went off. If left plugged in it kept doing that every 15-20 seconds. Finally figured out that the compressor temperature switch is bad. Every time I tapped it with a screwdriver handle the compressor would grunt and the fan would turn a little. I bypassed the switch and it roared to life. Evaporator started to ice up but the evap fan never came on. Had to call it quits for today. Gotta find my multimeter to see if the fan is getting power tomorrow.

What has to be done to galvanized sheetmetal to get it looking good again? Is that possible or do you just replace it?

Well.....another work week has ended and its almost time to get out to the garage to work on the cooler. Thanks to Eric at Global Compressors, I have a replacement evap fan motor and an overload switch to install.

Replacing/re-plating the sheet metal will get $$$ real quick. Try hot soapy water first and then a scrub with a light solution of TLC. Tough lime deposits may need fine steel wool to get off. A search of this site should find more info.

You can paint the liner with hammertone paint. I believe I have a cap catcher and a back cover for this cooler.

Dang...that sucker got cold. But the compressor never cut off. That thermostat may be bad or the wiring is not right.

Great!....how much for the cap catcher? As for the back panel, I had already planned to just make a new one from scratch,but if you had one I was gonna go that route to save time.
