Ok Im new at posting on here and I am going to attempt to post some pics hopefully I will get it right the first time. This is my Vendo 63 I recently started restoring. I have the main door off, the refrigeration system out, and the cabinet totally dissasembled. I plan on making it a Dr pepper machine. I plan to paint it green where it is red now and white where the white is. I also plan to change the front sign to a lighted sign.

Looks like a good restoration machine - some rust, but not too much!  Make sure you post during and after pics.  You can also put pictures in an album at this site.

I also have a V63.  Good little machine and it's pretty easy to find parts.

What is this sticking out the side?

The machine does have some surface rust but no real bad pitting or cancer. That is the fittings for the water fountain. I had already removed the fountain when the pics were taken. If you look at the pic of the inside youll see the coil for the fountain on the back wall.

That machine looks darn familiar.  You didn't find this near Panama City, Fl. did you?  One of my machines ran away to join the circus when I was in Pensacola and never seen her since.  :D

Seriously, welcome to this forum and spend lots of time reading because this website (and the people currently breathing life into it) are an absolute treasure trove of information!!  For instance, you say you want to do a lighted sign?  You say life just won't be complete without a lighted Dr. Pepper machine to add ambience to your home?  I say you're absolutely right!!!!  And for only 5 payments of $5,367.98..... :p

Check out this thread on putting lighted signs in base model (non-lit) machines.  Pay special attention to Josh's (loman4ec) ingenious and inexpensive conversion! Vendo 63 marquee wiring

Hope this helps get you started!!

Bought the machine outside of Little Rock Arkansas. It was a small town and I cant remember the name. How does a 500 pound machine walk off unnoticed? Thanks for all the info. you all post.

Hello blraven
Member trebob has a dr pepper machine with a light up sign. If he converts it to a coke machine maybe he could sell you the sign? Just a thought. :drinkers:

Not mine but looks pretty interesting (not $40.00 worth though).   Actually the fountain off mine is made of brass and will be going back on the machine.
