Title: Cavalier 51 evaporator fan motor Post by: BrianB on June 20, 2005, 08:32:33 am Got my "new" 51 home this weekend and the only real problem that I have discovered electrically is the Evap. Fan Motor. Most likely the windings are shot. I haven't checked it with a meter yet to determine it's exact problem. It is inoperative and I am going to have to replace it.
I'm used to the standard 4-5 Watt fan motors found on most refrigeration decks and have not encountered a motor with a mounting bolt configuration like this. Soda Jerk Works list's one but say's it's for the "C-51 Condensor Fan" I hope that's just a typo because unless I'm missing something, the C-51 doesn't have a condensor fan. It just uses a huge condensor with a large surface area just like a fridge. Here's a picture of the motor, thanks in advance for any help/advice: Title: Cavalier 51 evaporator fan motor Post by: BrianB on June 20, 2005, 08:35:22 am Not to sure why it posted my pic using a download link like that...Hopefully you guy's/gal's can view it. What application created the image file with a "*.psp"...? --> Paint Shop Pro For the future, if you post images, the best format is jpg, gif or png. Other formats may work but may display improperly or just eat up space... Bmp's are notorious for inflated file sizes so don't use this format! Whats a *.png? Creighton Title: Cavalier 51 evaporator fan motor Post by: Jim on June 21, 2005, 04:53:06 am Creighton,
PNG --> Portable Network Graphic A relatively newer image format that supports transparency similar to GIF. Title: Cavalier 51 evaporator fan motor Post by: BrianB on June 21, 2005, 06:33:54 am Johnie -
Yep, that looks like the beast. Three holes triaxially spaced around the body. Jim - That was a goof-up on my part! Usually I use PSP just to rotate/resize pic's and have never had that happen to me before. |
