Title: Shipping a cavalier 55 from canada. Post by: loman4ec on June 02, 2005, 09:44:15 pm I just bought a Cavalier 55 from Canada and I am wondering if any of the Canadian Members might know of a good company there to ship this machine. The machien is in Winnipeg, MB. Is anyone near there that might be able to look at it for me? I bought it for $200 so the price was right. It is the one that was on ebay and didn't sell. Tell me what you all think? The woodgrain on the front is just the standard contact paper. I'll bet it will clean off and look good origional but I am going to paint it.

Bob Title: Shipping a cavalier 55 from canada. Post by: BrianB on June 03, 2005, 07:23:44 am Not to sure about a reliable Canadian shipper....I would assume that possibly FedEX Freight might cross the borders..I used them to ship my WC-44SK from Michigan to Indiana. JohnieG helped me out with the shipping. He is VERY versed in the ways of shipping via FedEX.
BTW, Josh, (or any other Cavalier 55D owners) as you know I have (2) Cav 55D's. I have successfully re-created the Bottle Loading Instruction and Wiring Diagram decal's/sticker's that are located on the door liner. I have also had success re-creating the "Dupont Dulux" sticker as well as the red "For Serivce on this Vendor" sticker. Both of those are found on the inside of the coin door. Let me know if you might be interested and I can hook you up. Title: Shipping a cavalier 55 from canada. Post by: Ltransam on June 03, 2005, 08:08:52 am Hey,Josh

Just let me know........................ Leonard Title: Shipping a cavalier 55 from canada. Post by: MoonDawg on June 03, 2005, 02:31:26 pm I hired a shipper to pick up a machine in Canada to deliver to California. It sat in customs for 30 days before they contacted me. Had to hire a broker to get it across the border. Ended up costing $600.00 to ship a $500.00 machine

Try Forward Air, I have shipped several machines from all over Canada to California with no problems at all. They can set you up with a shipping broker to arrange for bond fee's. This was 25.00 bucks. They did all the bonding at thier Ohio terminal, this is Forward Air's main hub. The shipping cost is approx. 200.00 bucks a machine. Not as painful as it sounds. Title: Shipping a cavalier 55 from canada. Post by: loman4ec on June 03, 2005, 04:18:26 pm I called them and they said they only had terminals in east canada and nothing in that area. Oh well the owner has a company that will do it for $288 and as long as I paid less than $200 for it is duty free.
Title: Shipping a cavalier 55 from canada. Post by: Skeleton Man on June 03, 2005, 08:13:59 pm Being Canadian I looked at that machine myself, but it's in Manitoba and I'm in Ontario so it wasn't happening.. will be interested to see how you fare.. I have often wondered about shipping machines across the border.. (coz I really want a V63 and nobody up here has one!)
Title: Shipping a cavalier 55 from canada. Post by: glassbottlesrule on June 03, 2005, 08:53:11 pm Skeleton. I've sold machines to people in Canada and they have acted like it was no big deal to get across the border. Just had to make them a receipt for customs. I would start looking for a machine in Michigan or New York and just cart it across myself if I was you.
Title: Shipping a cavalier 55 from canada. Post by: Skeleton Man on June 04, 2005, 08:10:19 am Thanks for the info.... I've contemplated NY as it's so close to the border.. but I would need a door-to-door service as I don't have access to a truck... and the nearest airport is 3 hours away...
