Today I will have my Vendo 126. I should be able to give it a quick check out tonight & post a few pictures. My son is on the way to pick it up now. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: on May 26, 2005, 11:29:42 am I hope he knows to be VERY careful with it!

Here is the lower condensing coil area. Pretty rough looking but I think I can save it. I will remove & plug in the compressor directly to check the system. I think it will just have an electrical problem because it looks like it was an outside machine for awhile. Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 26, 2005, 08:08:26 pm sorry missed this picture

Check out this strange coin mech. It must be an early electrical model. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Creighton on May 26, 2005, 08:10:55 pm Kevin,
Looks to be a straight machine, good score!! Coke red "First On Race Day" extraction transport as well. Way to go!! Creighton Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 26, 2005, 08:11:19 pm Here is the coin door area.

I am watching one of these 126 on ebay. Do you mind if I ask what you paid and how far you went to pick it up. Thanks, Keith Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 26, 2005, 08:19:38 pm Hey
Over all I think it is a pretty good machine. I just plan on cleaning, replacing the two fan motors, t-stat & the wiring harness. Plus I will need to get the light working but wont be a problem. It does look like a V63 with a growth problem or on steriods. It will be nice to offer 14 selections. I do need two additonal shelves. I am a proud owner of a new machine. If you look at the pictures I posted you can see my other machines in the background. I will be moving the boat trailer out of the garage this weekend & that will reopen my coke machine repair area. You know the wife's van has to be inside all the time. She does draw a line there but for the most part she lets me entertain myself with coke machines. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 26, 2005, 08:30:33 pm Hello
I paid $64 on ebay but the listing stated that it did not cool. I am sure it is an electrical problem but wont know for sure until the next few days. I sent my son to pick it up 200 miles each way across the state of SC plus I had him take one of his friends. So I will pay them a full days worth of work so I would say the pick up cost will be right around $200. Food, gas, pay, soda's etc. I think I got a great deal on this Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: keithm on May 26, 2005, 11:16:37 pm Kevin,
I thought this may interest you. Check out his ebay listing ending Friday. # 6181462428 Keith Title: Vendo 126 Post by: joesquid on May 27, 2005, 12:18:26 am Your coin mech looks to be a National Rejector (NRI) model 7600 series single price vendor-changer, probably a .10 coin mech. I love playing with those things! COINCO and MARS units are okay but nothing beats the sound of an old electro-mechanical coin mech eating your change and spitting nickels at you!!
Title: Vendo 126 Post by: joesquid on May 27, 2005, 12:25:09 am I was just looking at your evap picture again and noticed your thermostat doesn't have any control feature. My Vendo 63 has an identical thermostat. Did Vendo step away from a controllable thermostat during the 60s? One of those things that make you go.....hmmmm.....
Title: Vendo 126 Post by: on May 27, 2005, 01:55:42 am Great deal! Very nice nachine. Glad that Sanford, Jr. and friend made it home safely.

I think that the T-stat has a screw driver slot right on the front & then you guess about the setting. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 27, 2005, 07:55:30 am Keith
That is the exact same machine & appears to be in better shape plus you know it runs. If it was close to me I would buy it & send my "Coke Rescue Team" to get it. Mine must have been on outside machine because it has rust around the bottom. Heck all coke machines are good. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 27, 2005, 07:59:12 am Hey Markito
I like the Sanford & Sons comments better than "Mr Mom" picking up coke machines in soccer mom van. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: on May 27, 2005, 10:43:48 am Yeah... ouch!... I'm still trying to live that one down.
Hey don't get me wrong, "Sanford & Son" rocks! So does "Chico & The Man" and "Welcome Back Kotter"! For reals. Title: Vendo 126 Post by: BryanH on May 27, 2005, 11:30:45 am Kevin - was cruising the colamachines board and stumbled on this post
Don't know if you're looking for another machine... but thought you might be interested (at least while the rescue team is still around) Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 27, 2005, 02:59:32 pm Bryan
What are you asking? I would like to sell the V63 that I have because the V126 will become my primary machine. I want to show my wife progress & allow room in the garage for any new ones that come to light. It is nice to say " Honey I sold a machine today for " The next time I sell one I want to try & open paypay sellers account at the bank. So right now I have the V63 -operational, V126 -in the receiving/admitting, V56 - long term rehab waiting on paint job, V110 - On hold in long term care. Do you have machine for sale? If so let me know. What I need is a bottle machine painted in Red/white for a quick turn around. I have someone waiting on the V56 to be painted but I am unsure of my time frame & the price to sell when I am done. So if someone has a V56 or V63 let me know. FYI the "Coke Rescue Team" start summer FB workouts next week but they are available to travel T, TH, Sat. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: BryanH on May 27, 2005, 05:24:45 pm Hey Kevin - was just letting you know that there was a V63 for sale in SC... in case you wanted another machine on the heals of picking up your v126. I've read that post again (noticed that the seller's name was Kevin) and looking at your comments here, I'm wondering: Did I just let you know that you could buy a v63 from yourself?
Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 28, 2005, 09:28:09 am Hello
Yes that is me so I guess I cant sell it to myself. Thanks but if you see one on ebay here in SC let me know. Searching on ebay is very strange. I have about 11 different coke machine, soda machine searches set up & still seem to miss machines. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 28, 2005, 03:19:20 pm Hello
I set up the V126 in is holding area in my garage & started to work on it. Removed the bottle rack, removed the cooling system, shop vac out the mess. When I set the cooling system on the work table I noticed the lower condensor fan motor completely missing including the mounting bracket. I pluged in the compressor & let it run for about 2 min & it did start to cool the upper evaporator coils. The lower condensor coil fins are in bad shape & the mounting platform is coverd with rust. So I need to think about what to do. Invest some money & repair this rig or just move ahead & buy a whole new cooling system. I think I will try to clean it in the morning & then decide. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Creighton on May 28, 2005, 07:00:13 pm Kevin,
Give Eric at Global Compressors a call. He is the man on these questions. Creighton Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 29, 2005, 09:23:50 am Hello
Yes I will do that. I explained the situation to the boss last night & she said to order a new refrigeration system. Considering the cost of the machine & the fact the machine will be my primary machine I am going to order a new rig. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: loman4ec on May 29, 2005, 09:40:23 am Kevin Pm me if you still need shelves. I have as many as you need. If it needs anything else I probably have it. I parted out a 117 a while back and I still have a bunch of parts from it. The 117 is basically the same machine.
Title: Vendo 126 Post by: MoonDawg on May 29, 2005, 12:15:36 pm
Kevin, you're going to abandon your cooling unit because of rust? Install a used fan motor and bracket and run it for a few months. But that's just me, like getting maximum mileage out of my old cars before I finally send them to the crusher. Title: Vendo 126 Post by: loman4ec on May 29, 2005, 01:25:13 pm I agree with Glen. If it works why replace it now. I just threw away a fan motor bracket and motor before I left I wish I would have known you needed it. I am sure someone here has a spare for you.
Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on May 30, 2005, 08:26:16 am Hello
I started the cleaning process yesterday. Cleaned the cooling system & I did decided to repair this one. I will use some rust converter & then paint. so I now need a lower condensor fan bracket. I am thinking about exchanging the cooling systems between the V-63 & the V126. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: loman4ec on May 30, 2005, 09:05:40 am It should be a direct replacement as that is one of the things that vendo wanted to interchangable between the three models.

Do you have the lower fan bracket? Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on June 13, 2005, 08:47:30 am Hello
Vendo 126 update. This weekend I installed new motors, wiring harness & T-stat on the cooling unit. Plugged in & nothing . Boy was I pissed. Several hours out in the garage down the tubes. So Sunday morning I took the cooling unit out of the V63 & installed in the V-126. After about and hour & 1/2 the Vendo 126 was back to life. I then installed a new ballest, starter & bulb in the large front coke sign. Plus I installed one of my back up coin changers so the V-126 is vending drinks for a quarter. The coin door is off right now because it is bent but I think it will go back on so I have the bottle opener. This old war horse is looking a little rough but running fine. After the start up my son & I had the grand fun of buying drinks to load in the big V126. So here are my selections. Killians, Molson Golden, Coors Light, Bud, Red Hook, Grolish, Corona, Red Strip, Ice House (2 rows), Cream Soda, Frosty Root Beer, water, diet coke. Plus we have Sprite in the upper holding area. Loading & first vend from a new machine is always fun! So I am going to order a brand new cooling unit for the V126 & then return the V-63 to operation. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: loman4ec on June 13, 2005, 09:01:55 am I would wait before doing that. Did you first wire the thermostat leads together to see if it is just a bad thermostat? Also if that isn't the problem I would buy a new starter for it and see if that might be the problem. I have had 3 units in the past that have had bad starters. They are about $15 and you can get them at your local HVAC store. They are called 3 in 1 starters. I would try these things before replacing the unit.
Title: Vendo 126 Post by: on June 13, 2005, 09:53:00 am
Kevin, I totally agree with that. What fun! Enjoy! Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on June 13, 2005, 11:07:05 am Josh
The compressor runs just does not cool. So the electrical relay in the pecker head is not the problem this time but that was a good idea. So at this point I will order a new cooling system. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: loman4ec on June 13, 2005, 11:58:51 am Wait. I am going to go pick up two Vendo parts machines today or tomorrow. If they cool I will make you a heck of a deal if you are interested.
Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on June 13, 2005, 04:29:40 pm Josh
Yes I am interested. Please let me know & I would like a replacement coin door for the bent one. The home computer went belly up this weekend so I wont be back here until I get back to work Tuesday. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: loman4ec on June 13, 2005, 04:51:08 pm Well it would be out of a 70's vendo push button machine but it should be nearly identical.
Title: Vendo 126 Post by: dr galaga on June 13, 2005, 05:07:52 pm
I thought you were going to hold off buying any machines for awhile? Title: Vendo 126 Post by: loman4ec on June 13, 2005, 05:31:36 pm Thats what i always say. I just bought a Cavalier 55 in Canada and I am thinking about buying these two push button machines. I think I have one sold and then I am going to part the other out.

I am sorry to say that I didn't buy the machines. They are an hour or so away and the owner says that they have not been plugged in for over 15 years and he will not allow me to plug them in before buying them. I told him that I will pass. They are two big heavy push button machines and my storage unit right now is only an 8X8. I just don't want to fool with having to part them out and I don't want to take the chance in buying them and getting them home and they don't work. I am sorry to have delayed you in buying the cooling system. Title: Vendo 126 Post by: MoonDawg on June 14, 2005, 10:47:13 am
Kevin, believe it or not......there are lots of these parts machines around, in every city of every state. Just ask Josh and Kito. They mave become MAGNETIC. Machines seem to be finding them now. Run a "wanted" ad in your local paper, and get back with us next week on what you found. Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on June 14, 2005, 11:17:41 am Hello
I ran an add for about six weeks in one of the trader papers & got three calls (V83, Ideal Slider, C-81) I pased on all three. I have been getting ready to post an add in the regular daily newspaper. Go back & read the old posts. Look for my V63 thread & you will see the pictures & the procedures. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on June 30, 2005, 09:27:24 am Hello
I just received a new reworked cooling system for the V126. I had a few emails & phone converstions the fellow who advertises/sales reworked refrigeration systems on ebay. After exploring several options including Global, buying a donor machine I contacted Todd. His current ebay item number is 7527514800. The rebuilt system just arrived at my office & came with a deck, compressor, two coils & the lower fan motor. I will have to add a new wiring harness, t-stat & the upper evaporator fan motor/bracket. So for $ 200 I think I have done well. I will let you know how it runs in a few days. His name is Todd & his phone number is 314-304-3899. I pulled a beer out of the V126 last night & had difficulty getting it out. Once I did get the beer out I saw that the bottle had freezen to the rack. Beer nice & cold & not frozen. I think hot humid summer days give beer machines a hard time. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on July 25, 2005, 02:37:11 pm Hey
I just won an auction for a bottle rack to mount on the side of my V126. Should be nice. Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: Kevin C on August 13, 2005, 09:04:38 pm Hello
I bought some of the smaller 7 oz Bud light beers for my V126 & loaded. I got a great reaction from my wife & daughter ( age 21 & college graduate) when I showed them the little lady sized beer bottles. They both thought it was a great idea to have a row of these little beers. Give it a try for the ladies! Kevin Title: Vendo 126 Post by: glassbottlesrule on August 13, 2005, 10:55:21 pm when I put beer in a machine I always put the Longneck little Corona's. The little bottles stay cold the whole way down and are just the right size for a light-weight beer drinker like myself.

I started loading a few rows with the small 12 oz plastic gatorade bottles & they seem to be a hit with my football playing son & his friends. They are a little difficult to pull due to the large caps but they do work. Kevin |
