Well finally got this little LaCrosse up & running, first of the season for mr anyway, it needed a re-wiring, and the light-up signs fixture need to be replaced (as it was removed at some point) I came up with this instant-start circline lamp setup, it does a nice job Illuminating the 3-D pepsi cap. the other neat thing about this machine is the vending manager, setup, just below the coinmech. it counts off every fouth coin & then "tips" a little flap inside the coin chute & deposits that coin into a seperate locked coinbox, it also has a vending meter to keep the store-owner "honest"...  :drinking:

Another really nice (and clean machine)... was the clean good fortune or elbow grease?  Like the light setup - is it pressure switch activated when the door closes or always on?

The round shape of the light is absolutely perfect for the same sized round sign. Great match-making.

thanks! lots of elbow grease! (& rubbing compond) the light is always on, unless you turn it off with the push-button switch I installed on the side of metal box that holds the "correct change only" light..you just can't see it from this angle...

johnieG, nice job!

Not to get off-topic, but I've been meaning to ask if you could post a pic of the '59 El Camino.  I love the '59 Chevys.  Almost grabbed one locally a few months back but the rust was too much.

Thanks,
Bob

Nice machine! (nicer than my LaCrosse - yes I'm still fighting with the hinges.  Got one pin to spin but won't come out!  Argh! )

A red '59 El Camino with a vintage soda machine in the bed.  If I saw that drive by me I think I'd pee myself just a little bit... :D

drip... drip... drip...

Wow!  I forget what part of the country you hail from, but is she fairly rust free?

I'm in MA - the road salt/rust/rot capital of the world.

Hey Bob.  Check with the west coast chapter here. We can be on the lookout for you. Fly to California and you can drive the El Camio home this summer, with and old Coke machine in the back.     Wow....you could take Route 66   :drinkers:

Johnie,

That Lacrosse looks awesome! I bet it'll look even better sitting next to a Vendo Ice Cream Machine!!! :D

I've always been a fan of older square tops and now it seems that even the Lacrosse's are starting to grow on me.....Ugh, that's all I need!!! :p

Nice machine.  That vending manager is slick.  I looked at a Midway pin a few months ago that had the same set-up.
