Title: New vmc 56 Post by: BrianB on May 15, 2005, 10:10:29 pm Awesome find Petey! Looks pretty clean for it's age. When you get a chance to get her open, I'd love to see more pic's!

Title: New vmc 56 Post by: Creighton on May 17, 2005, 03:17:15 am Nice looking machine! Give the suppliers listed on the page a call they may have a key. Seems like they are around $15.00. I'd try that first. You can drill and replace if that fails.
Creighton Title: New vmc 56 Post by: petey64 on May 17, 2005, 11:17:31 am well yesterday i could not find a key easily so my lack of patience won out and i drilled the lock out and after removing the hay and the numerous spider webs and a piece of paper advertising a finance plan for a moped dating to 1980, i plugged it in and it cooled and the little light in the door worked i let it go for about an hour and i turned it off i took off the coin mech "it was a metal and a bit heavy" thats about as far as i've gotten but so far i am cautiously optimistic, i will post pics as soon as i have them.

Title: New vmc 56 Post by: petey64 on May 18, 2005, 10:32:55 pm ok todays update, i cleaned the coin mech and the slug rejector but it might be too far gone, when i put everything back together and plugged it all back in it treated quarters like nickels and everything else didn't work at all, i set it for 20 cents and gave it a whirl, it sounded like it wanted to vend "the clicks and all" but it would not let take a pop out of any of the racks I am definetly open for suggestions.
Thanks Title: New vmc 56 Post by: petey64 on May 18, 2005, 10:34:52 pm Title: New vmc 56 Post by: MoonDawg on May 19, 2005, 09:56:47 am Pete, change it with a Coinco . I will fix you up as soon as I get some back that I sent in for service

Title: New vmc 56 Post by: petey64 on May 27, 2005, 03:43:44 pm Good afternoon all, i received my new coin mech last night and swapped it out but the same problem persists it makes the proper noise but will not vend any suggestions?
Title: New vmc 56 Post by: MoonDawg on May 27, 2005, 06:29:47 pm Ok Pete, you confused us when you said the coin settings were haywire. Drop in a coin and it is accepted--a distinct click from the solonoid below the bottle stack? This is good!. Now check that the return spring is attatched and returning the solonoid to it's original position after demagnatism
Title: New vmc 56 Post by: Skeleton Man on May 27, 2005, 06:54:47 pm How do the slant shelve mechs work ? I don't as yet own one, but I'm curious as to how they work.. (ie. allow/stop a bottle from being pulled)
Title: New vmc 56 Post by: BryanH on May 27, 2005, 07:18:50 pm Chris - the mechanism is electro-mechanical. The electrical part is that the coin mech activates a solenoid that puls a linkage arm and releases the "lock" on the mechanical mechanism. The machine then stays in an unlocked state until a bottle or can is pulled. When a bottle is pulled (from any of the slots) the gate for that slot moves forward and mechanically prevents, through a series of cams at the back of the vending shelf assembly, any other gates from being opened at the same time (while the lock is off). Then once the bottle is out and the slots gate snaps back into position it also resets the linkage arm and relocks the assembly.
Without actually having a machine to look at, I'm guessing that this is as clear as mud. If you want I could scan and fax a couple pages from a VMC manual, but it may not help without seeing it all together. Title: New vmc 56 Post by: Skeleton Man on May 28, 2005, 10:24:20 am Scanned pages would be great !
