Title: Need some consoling Post by: jasmine64 on April 30, 2005, 11:17:47 am OK guys, you know I have been restoring my machines for months now. Was delayed by the death of my brother.
well the thing is last night some teens vandalized my machines. After I spent the the afternoon reassembling the vending mech was going to finish it up today and found this had happened. The police and prosecuting attorney are looking into it and hope to have a confession soon. Of course they are denying it. I have one very mad parent and has confronted his son. Spray pained the machines I just had painted, cut wire to coin mech and ripped out wires. And my husband cant understand why I'm upset and want to involve the police and the parents So how much is it going to cost me to rewire the machine they ripped the wires out of? Title: Need some consoling Post by: loman4ec on April 30, 2005, 11:37:35 am With some time you can do it yourself. I have done a few and it really isn't hard. I am so sorry to hear about what happened. You are doing the right thing. Those kids need to be taught a lesson.
Title: Need some consoling Post by: jasmine64 on April 30, 2005, 11:42:16 am Thanks, I had to end the ebay listing on both and already had bids.
So where can I get the connectors, wiring and new female part to the jones plug to rewire. How do i get the liner off. Someone walk me through that process. My daughter had to leave the house while I vented, being they were her "friends". She thinks I'm unfair. Title: Need some consoling Post by: loman4ec on April 30, 2005, 11:46:53 am There is a post from only a day or two ago in the swap meet area about where to get the jones plug. The liner comes out one of two ways. One lift up the seal on the outside of the liner. There will either be screws or clips. If it is screws just remove them and pull the door liner off, if it is clips just gently pry them off. It is really simple either way.
Title: Need some consoling Post by: Kilroy on April 30, 2005, 12:26:37 pm Jasmine, just remember we'll be here for support, moral and technical.

I hope you all (it's a southern thing could have said ya'll)will help getting over this is going to be hard. I spent long hours working and cleaning these machines I feel like I can take one apart blindfolded. Went back out and looked over the machines and the cap catchers on both machines are missing. Guess they needed a prize along with the jones plug. My heart still sinks. Title: Need some consoling Post by: Creighton on April 30, 2005, 02:33:31 pm Very bad deal so sorry. Being a parent myself I'd like to see if she'd care to have them to treat her as they've treated you, (unfair???) attacts on personel property are also directed against the owner, no excuses, "friends" or not...if it's not addressed here and now, then what's next? (with "friend's like that...who needs enemies" )they obvously knew that it would get your goat to trash the machines...so where they directing their "prank" at the machines or were they being dirrected to do so? who knows, it doesn't mater at this point, the law is the law. To quote a book..."A done bun can't be undone" don't normally get on a soap box...but Geez.. nail the punks. Title: Need some consoling Post by: johnieG on April 30, 2005, 11:27:50 pm
The "tail" end of the connector is soldered onto the circut board & the replacement connector would have to be soldered onto it at that point..sent me the circut board(s) & I can "graft" a jones cable from a "doner" mech onto yours...you got my personel message [PM] I sent you..with my email address already...they can be fixed! Josh, You may want to edit out your phone # etc. and just PM it to Jasmine. I'd hate for bad www people to start abusing your phone number etc. Title: Need some consoling Post by: on April 30, 2005, 11:53:50 pm Jas, so very sorry to hear the news. We all are truly hurting for you. Give those punks .
Title: Need some consoling Post by: jasmine64 on May 01, 2005, 09:17:36 am Thanks guys. My daughter and husband dont really understand the bond I have
to the machines. I know every inch of the machines by heart how they work and the temperment. I admit I had a shouting match with them both but then the military training kicked in and it took on a life of it's own. Neither had ever seen that part of me rear it's head. I havent yelled orders like that since basic at Lackland. Felt kinda good. Whole different spin on it after that. Got results. Any other ex military out there understand? Oh well. I'll now just sit back and see how slow the wheels of justice roll. Title: Need some consoling Post by: jasmine64 on May 01, 2005, 09:30:21 am Johnnie I dont have a pm from you in my box. try again.
Title: Need some consoling Post by: MoonDawg on May 01, 2005, 11:48:49 am Don't fix the coin mech. Replace it. I'll bet you get one for $30.00 on ebay or maybe Johnie has reconditioned one.

But you husband and daughter should realize that spray painting a machine and cutting the wires is a serious act of vandalism...I would be madder than heck! If I saw one of those teenagers, I'd look em dead in the eye and use the great quote from the movie Southern Comfort: "Where we come from from, we don't use guns...we use ropes..." Should be enough for him (I assume it was guys) to change their panties. Hang in there...we'll all here for you. Title: Need some consoling Post by: jasmine64 on May 01, 2005, 05:32:37 pm Thanks, I just found out one of the guys spent the night at one
of my friend house last night didnt want to go home. Hasnt been home all weekend. She's keeping an eye on him and her son. Funny thing is he has no idea we are family friends from back 20 years. Title: Need some consoling Post by: BrianB on May 02, 2005, 07:15:32 am Jasmine,
Sorry to hear about your situation. That happens to be one of my BIGGEST pet peeves. If you have a problem with me or want something from me, don't damage/hurt/vandalize any property of mine, just come talk to me. Yeah, kids will be kids but as you well know having a daughter, there's a thin line between being a "cool" parent and having to drop the proverbial hammer. Lackland, eh? Prior Air Force D.I.? Yeah, I understand about reverting to mlitary training when you get angry or involved in a stressfull confrontational situation! Hey, if you have to, Drop 'em....maybe some PT will do 'em good! As others have said, we're all here to help you if you need it, be it moral or technical help. If you need anything, just holler!! Keep us updated, Jas. Title: Need some consoling Post by: joesquid on May 02, 2005, 07:16:17 am Jasmine,
I'll check my coin mechs. I've got several and am pretty sure one of them is fully functional. If you want it, it's yours. Were you using one of the old NRI single-price coin mechs or a COINCO variety? What model coke machines do you have? Title: Need some consoling Post by: jasmine64 on May 02, 2005, 11:11:15 am Thanks I may take you up on the coin mech. The S.O. still hasnt given me go ahead on getting them fixed. Hurry up and wait game.
I only got one pic the camera is in my husbands truck at work, so I'll get ya some more later of the damage. My sister and I both military. She still goes into military mode with her kids. Hey we had an earthquake here yesterday morning. The epicenter was in Manila Ark and we felt it here. 2nd one I've felt in 4 months.
