Title: Vendorlator VF-165 Coin Mech Swap Post by: kraftworkz on March 20, 2021, 11:38:52 am I'm trying to repair a Vendorlator VF-165 that has a Mars coin manager that is dead. I'm unable to find a manual or any info on what coin mech was originally installed in this machine.
I'm wondering if a Coinco 3000S series would work? Anybody have any inside info on this machine and if this would work? Much appreciated. Perhaps someone that has tinkered with newer machines will chime in... Title: Re: Vendorlator VF-165 Coin Mech Swap Post by: johnieG on March 20, 2021, 09:36:51 pm pretty much any 120 volt/8-pin (Jones plug style) coinmech will work...
yeah that's the problem with MARS electronic mechs, once they glitch, their done. if you push the coin-eject buttons on the side of the change tubes & nothing happens ( no coins attempt to eject to the coin-return cup) then the logic board is toast. make sure you have power to begin with between the female Jones socket pins #1 & #2 & there should be a small red LED power indicator behind the coin-acceptor area. but never unplug the ribbon cable that connects the coin-acceptor to the main motherboard of the coinmech when the power is on... it will scramble the coin-detection circuit & it will reject all coins Title: Re: Vendorlator VF-165 Coin Mech Swap Post by: kraftworkz on March 20, 2021, 09:55:40 pm pretty much any 120 volt/8-pin (Jones plug style) coinmech will work... yeah that's the problem with MARS electronic mechs, once they glitch, their done.
