Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 24, 2005, 10:15:04 am Well I just won a Jacobs 26 on ebay. I know nothing about these machines. I have heard that they are made of aluminum. is that true? If so mine has a HUGE dent on the side. Will it be hard to straighten? I can't wait to go get it.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: MoonDawg on April 24, 2005, 11:21:09 am It's the VMC 27 that is aluminum. Jacobs is steel but your dents are very easy to get to. Good buy, local as well.
(My first picture post ) Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 24, 2005, 04:09:14 pm Nice machine Glen!!! I can't wait for mine to look like that. I think this one is going to have to wait for a while. anyway I think this machine might be a keeper so I am not in a hurry. I am going to go get it in the morning so I will post pics when I get it home.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Creighton on April 24, 2005, 05:48:45 pm Great score!
I like those. Can the 26 be made to vend 12oz bottles? Creighton Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 24, 2005, 05:58:14 pm I don't believe so. I wish it could. If someone knows of a way please share.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: on April 25, 2005, 12:38:26 am I love the look of those mailboxes.
Can't wait to see your pics Josh! Glen, absolutely stunning! Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: BrianB on April 25, 2005, 07:56:29 am Josh, that's awesome! Is that the machine out of Poland, IN? I was looking at that one too. Only about a 40 min drive for me. Good to know that it went to a good home! I was a little apprehesive to bid on that one.
You should be happy that it has the drum and the coin door/mech! Those are usually missing and darn hard to find after the fact! Good grab! Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Bob K on April 25, 2005, 11:00:36 am Glen, nice deep finish on that 26. Like candy coating...
Bob Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: MoonDawg on April 25, 2005, 11:05:03 am The machine in the picture is a Jacobs 35. Notice the handle derived from VMC 27 / 33.
I have a complete Jacobs 26 for sale if anyone else is interested. Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 25, 2005, 02:55:09 pm Yes it is the machine from poland In. I just got it home but I don't have it out of the truck yet. It is alot better than it looked on ebay. I will post pics later tonight. It is complete and really solid. I think it will run it is just that the wiring is a nightmare. And the fan motor is actually in pieces inside the machine. It looks like it exploded.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 25, 2005, 04:48:42 pm Well here it is. I can't wait to have this one done!!!
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 25, 2005, 04:49:18 pm inside

Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: vendobaldtops on April 25, 2005, 09:29:16 pm Josh,
Now that it is yours...can you now tell us if that is a bird's nest or rat's nest inside the machine Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Creighton on April 25, 2005, 09:41:39 pm Josh,
Looks good! Looking forward to the next update. Creighton Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 25, 2005, 11:00:50 pm I didn't pay much attention to it to be honest. I will let you know what it is when I go back. I have decided to start saving the money and get this one done soon.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: sodaworks on April 26, 2005, 09:55:39 am Nice machine Josh.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Eric on April 26, 2005, 10:49:50 am Yeah great score... there was one in Illinois about 2 years ago for $700
I past.... I wish I wouldn't have now... Even though these are not embossed and only take the smaller bottles there's just something about the style! They are a great looking machine. I think if I had my choice... I'd pick this model over a 44.... Bring on the after images Josh! Eric Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Bob K on April 26, 2005, 11:02:23 am ...and don't turn it into a FROSTIE!!!
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: on April 26, 2005, 11:10:22 am Josh, you forgot the stuff on the top of your new Jacobs.
Kito is still waiting Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 26, 2005, 01:12:21 pm Dont worry this wont be a frosty machine. I am going to get started when I get the money. I just bought a Pepsi Ideal slider so now I am even more broke.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Eric on April 26, 2005, 01:36:28 pm Hmmm...... starting to sway to the round side.....
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 26, 2005, 02:18:32 pm Well I will be honest I have almost completely swayed to the round side. I still love my square tops but I think the round tops are going to be keepers although I might have someone wanting the Jacobs. I think I am going to continue to build square tops and sell them to raise money to buy machines to keep. I have been buying and selling only because I can't afford to keep them but now I think I have found a way to keep machines. besides how many other hobbies are out there that you can kepp something and double your money in time.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Eric on April 26, 2005, 02:35:18 pm Yep! This is a great Hobby! an investment......
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: MoonDawg on April 26, 2005, 02:45:47 pm
Ok Eric, only this group would understand that comment. I'm afraid that Josh may have done his last square corner restoration We're all the same. Start out with that $50.00 square machine we got from the neighbors, then keep wheelin' and dealin' and before we know it, we find ourselves spending $1000.00 for a round corner soda machine. A cure for this behavior has yet to be found. Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: on April 26, 2005, 02:50:05 pm Nuthin' wrong with round stuff!
It may be tough to balance damaging junk on top of Jacobs machines, but I'm willing to bet that our members can do it. Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Eric on April 26, 2005, 04:19:57 pm The closest thing to a cure is fix that $1000 machine then upgrade to another!
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 26, 2005, 05:11:01 pm Well I think I just bought two Coke 110's and a westinghouse BV56. One of the 110's is a 6 case cooler and the other is a small door 110. I think I have gone mad. I just can't quit spending money.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: MoonDawg on April 26, 2005, 06:53:52 pm Call this man a doctor! You guys like the roundtops?
I like the round bottoms. Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: BrianB on April 27, 2005, 08:17:45 am Josh, anytime you think you might need some "therapy" and have thoughts of giving up, you know where I live! I might be able to help you divest your "collection" I have yet to be swayed to the "Round side"....
I guess maybe part of it is cost and the other part is space/time (not like the continuum). Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have a round top of some sort. They are wonderful looking machines. Sigh......Maybe someday! Or maube I should focus on what I'm working on right now!!! Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 27, 2005, 08:39:44 am Well I will have a Vendo 6 case for sale soon if anyone wants one.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Eric on April 27, 2005, 08:48:10 am Call this man a doctor! With the way he's spending money
I think he is a doctor! Man sounds like you've hit a roundtop vein in the mountain of soda machines with all the roundtops you've been finding! Keep digging! There's gotta be a 7up or Pepsi 81 in there somewhere! Eric Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: loman4ec on April 27, 2005, 10:13:59 am I just want to find any 81.
Title: Jacobs 26 Post by: Eric on April 27, 2005, 10:36:11 am You will! They're out there.... I just wish I could find them like the eBay sellers
seem to find them. I've seen to sellers have Pepsi 81 that they found in the back of a Storage unit (no reserve knew nothing about it) and One on some property they had just bought in a barn (again knew nothing about it) I remember both time they just titled them Old Pepsi Machine....... How cool would that be buying a house to find a machine in the shed. Eric |
