Title: Vendo-39 Restoration Post by: kevib71 on January 01, 2020, 03:13:57 am Need help. Tearing apart this machine, planning on replacing every thing new. Having a hard time with getting the compressor bracket out. Do I just torch and start new?
Title: Re: Vendo-39 Restoration Post by: johnieG on January 01, 2020, 07:54:22 pm you have to remove the bottom kick panel trim first our you will not be able to lift it out, & you really didn't need to remove both compressor & condenser off of the mounting bracket rails in order to remove it, it all comes out as an assembly. once the trim is removed, it just kinda tips up & out of the chassis, it's a little tight, but it does come in one piece.... you are making extra work for yourself.
But I do envy all of your empty garage space... Title: Re: Vendo-39 Restoration Post by: kevib71 on January 02, 2020, 01:20:05 pm Thanks, everything is pretty rusty and roached at the bottom. How exactly do you remove bottom kick panel trim? How many bolts should I be looking for and where? Since I plan to put all new compressor etc.. can i just cut out compressor frame?

Title: Re: Vendo-39 Restoration Post by: johnieG on January 02, 2020, 04:17:47 pm Glad you got it off, yeah they can get pretty corroded over their lifetime, snow, salt, the aluminum grows into the bolts & destroys them in the process. I usually end up just chiseling them off...
