Title: CS-96 market price range
Post by: Zerbie on July 14, 2019, 08:47:36 am
Hi all,

Hoping to gain some insight on today's market range for a working "good condition" CS-96 Coke machine? And are these a very collectable machine?

Thanks in advance!

I have an original/non-restored CS-72.  I love it.  Comes down to what you want to use it for and what you want to put in it.  I have 2 rows of coke and Fanta for the kids and the other 7 shelves full of different long neck beers.  The family rule is no plastic bottles allowed.  It is always a talking point at a party.  The 96 is a bit taller and you could put more in it.  eBay has them listed for $6k+.  I'm sure you can get it cheaper.  My guess would be $3k depending on the condition.  I didn't buy mine for an investment.  I wanted one because I thought they are extremely cool.

Assuming you are talking about the 50s round corner version and not the 60s square corner version? If so the price starts at $1,000 for a complete original although most likely it will be rough for that price. Clean original examples are hard to find because it was an outdoor machine. A decent original will run between 2000 and 2500. fully restoring one will start at $5,000 and up, depends where you buy it and who restored it.

Is this machine collectible? It does fall into the collectible machine category although I would argue just barely. It's a very tall machine for home use.

I would also look into the Cavalier 72. Same machine just shorter and more proportioned. Pricing is almost the same, if anything just a slightly higher but well worth the extra money.

Thank you for your reply....I had a flake seller and never got a chance to see the CS-96 for an advertised $1,200.00 locally to me. Thus my interest to know if I wanted to dive into a machine that I really don't care for. At the right price and condition, I may have been persuaded to like a machine I didn't think I did

C 96 was my first machine and used it for many years , let it go to my son and he still enjoys it at his home . I like it because it does hold more selection and being a little taller doesn’t hurt . I picked up another one last year and paid $900 and is working.
