Title: First Purchase: Jacobs 26 Post by: BlazinB333 on August 08, 2018, 12:13:18 pm Hi guys,
I’m new here and have been searching for a decent deal for a little while. I came across this 1947 Jacobs 26. It was repainted 25 years ago. Got it for $530. One question: I’ve noticed the condensation jar fills up in about 24-36 hours. Could be a leaky seal but I’ve also noticed the cooling fan has trouble getting started. Could the excess condensation also be due to excess heat? I’ll post more pix tonight and any ideas are appreciated!! Sounds like it is running too long. It could be bad gaskets or thermostat needs adjustments. If bad gaskets you will see condensation build up where the refrigerated air is leaking. Hope that helps.
