Title: Candy machines Post by: cohammer on January 28, 2018, 07:03:17 pm Had these candy machines in back of my garage for a long time finally getting around to trying restore. Small one is missing lower door and large one is complete other than obvious parts needed. Can someone tell me proper name for both . Thanks Jeff
Title: Re: Candy machines Post by: Jim on January 28, 2018, 07:38:53 pm Both appear to be Senior Models; the maroon machine is on a short base which I would consider a plus since these are wide machines.
Title: Re: Candy machines Post by: cohammer on January 28, 2018, 07:48:06 pm Thanks Jim , I would assume the glass and other parts are available. The mirror is intact on the short one so I guess I could get one cut and Clean up the inside racks and go from there as far as restoration. Would you go with original colors or what ever looks good ? So they are the same machine but on different bases , not sure why the large one has a open back base but would not be accessible up against wall . Serial numbers are - maroon 49S5112 and tall one 51S13090

For as great as Stoner did to design these machines, way ahead of their time, they failed when it came to colors. All original colors had no pop to them. When you restore I would use any color you want. Retro colors always look cool on these.
