Title: Sand blasting Vs chemical paint stripping Post by: chris in Bama on July 01, 2017, 03:09:12 pm This is my first post to this site and my first machine restore (attempt). i have a coke WD5 cooler that I picked up, it is not a big machine, what is the opinion of the group on sandblasting vs chemical paint stripping? It has some minor rust areas that I think I can remove myself by wet sanding and i have this rink dink sand blaster from harbor freight (for light jobs). any advice is appreciated, thanks..

Title: Re: Sand blasting Vs chemical paint stripping Post by: collecture on July 03, 2017, 11:01:50 am If chemically done, you will need to seal all the joints. Some of the chemicals will eventually seep out and compromise the paint job. Easier to sandblast.
