After being around machines for so many years in all honesty I kind of get tired of seeing the same ol stuff so to speak so the past couple of years I've been trying to think outside the box to keep things fresh and exciting.
This machine was a Pepsi that needed restoration. Rather then redoing it Pepsi blue or turning it into a Coke or a fantasy machine I decided to leave it a Pepsi but went with the yellow version. Title: Re: Yellow Pepsi - Lookin' Good Post by: Delta5 on March 24, 2017, 05:17:33 pm I had been told that Coca Cola painted the Canadian machines yellow.
Is that true? Great looking machine Title: Re: Yellow Pepsi - Lookin' Good Post by: BONOVOX on March 24, 2017, 08:50:25 pm Can't say that I've ever seen or heard of a yellow coke machine up here in the Great White North.
Title: Re: Yellow Pepsi - Lookin' Good Post by: MoonDawg on March 25, 2017, 11:33:06 am This is a page from Jeff Walters' book.
I am aware of yellow Canadian Pepsi chest coolers, but can anyone here confirm that there really was a yellow 27 produced?? Title: Re: Yellow Pepsi - Lookin' Good Post by: mygoose101 on March 25, 2017, 02:23:55 pm Here is a photo that went around the internet a few months ago. It's what inspired me to do mine in yellow. Not only is the one in this photo yellow, it's EMBOSSED!

I am aware of yellow Canadian Pepsi chest coolers, but can anyone here confirm that there really was a yellow 27 produced?? I can verify that. It was embossed Pepsi:Cola with original yellow paint. I believe that it had an aluminum body which made it more unusual to have the lettering raised. Someone delivered it to Chicago around 1999 or 2000. It went west in Jeff Walters truck. Ray and I posted at the same time. The one that I saw was in good original condition. Title: Re: Yellow Pepsi - Lookin' Good Post by: BONOVOX on March 26, 2017, 11:03:06 am In my opinion, when it comes to NON coke upright machines, the hardest ones to get are:
Pepsi: VMC 27 embossed 7up: VMC 88 embossed RC: Vmc 110 self serve Thanks for sharing the picture of the 27.. .anyone know if was ever restored? Title: Re: Yellow Pepsi - Lookin' Good Post by: mygoose101 on March 26, 2017, 01:28:36 pm On the 27 I posted a picture of, if I remember correctly the guy who's truck it's on found it somewhere and posted the picture on a FB site asking if it was worth keeping, something like that. He wasn't a collector.

Title: Re: Yellow Pepsi - Lookin' Good Post by: pinballdude on March 27, 2017, 10:23:48 pm I was going to ask that if it is painted in colors that are NOT normal, would it be considered a "fantasy" piece? Also would it not be "period correct"? Meaning the use of yellow in Pepsi advertising was many years earlier. PLEASE, I'm not tying to step on toes or get flamed. Sorry in advance. Just trying to get educated.
Title: Re: Yellow Pepsi - Lookin' Good Post by: mygoose101 on March 27, 2017, 11:26:02 pm You're not stepping on my toes because I'm not really sure what year they did switch from yellow to blue. I saw the yellow machine in Walters book and then the photo of the embossed 27 that was also yellow. I wouldn't call it a fantasy machine because it was a Pepsi but I went with the earlier color of yellow. If it was a higher end machine or an embossed machine I would understand but I was just trying to have fun with a otherwise fairly common 27.
