Title: IGA Porcelain Sign Post by: sodahunter on January 17, 2017, 09:09:23 am Anybody ever see one of these? I think it's an earlier, pre-war version. Two 8' sections that join in the middle. Letters and shields are seperate pieces that attach via speed nuts that give it kind of a 3D effect. I remember seeing A&P stores as a kid, but not the IGA's. I haven't had a chance to clean it yet, one side is pretty dusty.

bottles and they would hand me the quarter and if I was good my mom let me keep it to get a soda out of one of the 2 small square top soda machines. Some of those soda cartons are worth good money now... especially the Mountain Dew. Great sign! Worked at "Jacks" IGA. through high school. Sorted many of those racks of returned bottles. Still have a few keepers but should have saved more. Creighton |
