Title: IGA Porcelain Sign Post by: sodahunter on January 17, 2017, 09:09:23 am Anybody ever see one of these? I think it's an earlier, pre-war version. Two 8' sections that join in the middle. Letters and shields are seperate pieces that attach via speed nuts that give it kind of a 3D effect. I remember seeing A&P stores as a kid, but not the IGA's. I haven't had a chance to clean it yet, one side is pretty dusty.

bottles and they would hand me the quarter and if I was good my mom let me keep it to get a soda out of one of the 2 small square top soda machines. Some of those soda cartons are worth good money now... especially the Mountain Dew. Great sign! Title: Re: IGA Porcelain Sign Post by: Creighton on January 18, 2017, 12:52:04 am Great early sign !! IGA Independent Grocery Association.
Worked at "Jacks" IGA. through high school. Sorted many of those racks of returned bottles. Still have a few keepers but should have saved more. Creighton |
