Title: Blatz Figure Info needed Post by: Aahgo on December 01, 2016, 09:09:02 am A while ago my father-in-law gave me a Blatz "Safe at Home" figure set that is in just fair condition. It is missing the flags and baseball and it has some scuffs. Also the can guy label is not great. I'd like to clean it up some but don't want make it worse. Are there any sites or more information to be found on restoring these old signs? Thanks

Title: Re: Blatz Figure Info needed Post by: cormy on December 02, 2016, 11:31:37 am I have found (the hard way) that trying to clean these type displays up can do more damage than good. Other than some mild soap and water I would not recommend much else. I know its hard to resist since I have a need to improve the pieces that I get. But missing pieces can also be replaced from donors found online or wherever. That's what really improves the piece.

Pretty cool... always thought those were some type of wood or composition didn't know they were metal... nice. Title: Re: Blatz Figure Info needed Post by: Aahgo on December 02, 2016, 09:21:17 pm Yeah, I found some reproduction flags on e-bay, but what I was really hoping for was someone reproducing the labels for the bottle and can guy. Also maybe some cleaning advice for the painted surfaces. Thanks again.

Don't know of anyone who makes foil looking labels... |
