Title: Coke Machine Coins Post by: shadeone on October 18, 2016, 10:38:44 am In addition to my obsession with all things Coca-Cola and soda in general, I have also been a mild coin collector since I was a kid.
This morning a thought popped into my head... How can I combine both of my hobbies into one? I know just about all of the "free coke" tokens / coins that exist out there are fantasy pieces, but then I remembered seeing some of the threads on here about the coins that people have found in old machines. Does anyone still have any of their found dimes from a Coke machine at all that would be willing to part with just a single one with a 1950s date on it (preferably 1955)? In coin collecting, you often wonder what kinds of things an old coin might have been used to purchase, but to be able to have a coin in my collection that I know specifically went to buy someone an ice-cold Coke on a hot summer day in the 50s... Well that would be amazing! |
