Title: Improve Damaged Porcelain on Coke Button Sign?
Post by: ort8149 on September 18, 2016, 11:36:55 am
Hello All,

Are there any good/acceptable techniques to improving damaged porcelain to a coke buttton sign?  The damage areas are small, bb/pellet gun dings that have shattered the porcelain off.  Can anyone offer a technique used that can improve the looks of the sign?

Thank you

typically "REPAIRED" signs have less value...

but I understand if your looking to display it , you want it to look better...

I dont' have any techniques other than to color match some paint and try touching it up..

but just know I don't think it will help your resale if you chose to do so.

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply.  I purchased a porcelain button with some chips and dings.  After cleaning it up, it looks great. I'm going to leave it as is.

If you want to improve the look of it just hanging on the wall I just sold a 3 ft button that I had with some bad chips . While I was displaying it I had some water base paint that matched pretty good and hid the chips and when I went to sell it I took some mineral spirits and removed the paint so it was not touched up .
