Post by: Creighton on August 03, 2016, 10:46:01 pm
Need to send a door from a Camper to Nashville, TN. Will be 3'x6' and 150 lbs. packed. Any suggestions?

Outside of the obvious UPS, Fed Ex...etc

I've used Greyhound in the past...
and I've also used Fastenal in the past.
Each you have to contact to get specifics but they where affordable and flexible.

I have been using Fastenal almost exclusively. 125.00 ships just about anything anywhere in the country.

will they ship machines that have compressors in them? I've heard some companies don't want to deal with that...

I have a call into Fastenal for shipping a machine from Calif. to FL... They original quoted me $130.00 and then sent an invoice for $175.00

Creighton,
Unfortunately, the door is a very unusual size and pretty heavy...
Perhaps, try uShip and see what someone can do to get it there...

I haven't had a discussion with Fastenal about compressors, etc. They know that it was a soda machine. It needs to be strapped to a pallet, and the store has always wrapped the them in plastic wrap for us.
I have had quite a few machines shipped to me that way.

I haven't used them myself, but my understanding is Fastenal requires shipping and pickup both be done at their stores.

Yes, it's store to store. If you can get the "shipper" to haul the item to one of their stores, you're all set, that is unless you don't live near a Fastenal store. :darn:

I have used Fastenal and they were very affordable and fast. Seller has to cooperate to pull it off.
