Title: Advise and direction
Post by: dalem on July 24, 2016, 12:12:56 pm
Greetings,
I hope this is posted in the correct area. I have an 80A coke machine that I have owed for 30 years. It has been kept indoors for those years. By appearance it has probably always been indoors or covered. It belonged to a drugstore in it's first life. I have not refurbished it or plugged it in in 4 or 5 yrs due to dry rot of the power cord. Knowing my electrical limitations I have simple used it as decor. The compressor did kicked on when it was last plugged in. I will try to attach pictures. The bottom line is I'm ready to sell and just want to be fair to a buyer and myself.

Welcome to the Site!

What you have is a Vendo 80 which appears from the outside to be in good condition.  There are many factors when it comes to selling a machine.  If the wiring is old and brittle a few sponsor sites have replacement harnesses the sale.

I would take more pictures of the machine and test to see if it will operate properly.  You will want to make sure the machine is stocked with product.

Yes, a Vendo 80. It is a nice original machine, those are getting very hard to find, machines that don't need a restoration, yours definitely does not. The Vendo 80 is just a single vend machine, 6-8oz bottles only but you can modify it to vend cans. There was a option to have the stainless trim on the sides that are a little more collectible. If you are looking to sell I would leave the cord as is, if you see wires just use electrical tape where you feel it is safe to plug in just to test it. I think if you wax it up a bit and take some good photos is a $1,000-$1,200 machine. You can list it on Craigslist for free just to see what offers you get. Good luck.
