Anyone need a copy of Jeff Walters third edition? It looks well used, and at a bargain price.

Yikes. Expensive but in all honesty I don't think I would sell mine for that. I still reference it.

At first glance I thought it said 14.99. I then thought to myself you guys think that's expensive. Then on second look I realized it said 149.99 WOW! I would like to have a hard copy but I have the downloaded version already.

I wonder what a signed copy would sell for.....hmmmm :biggrin:

Out of print reference books sell very well, I too have been surprised what they can bring. Same type post as OP was talked about on another forum of a book, and I had bought one new for another specific type collectable for $45 in the early 90's. A copy sold on eBay 3 years ago near $900. Two weeks later one sold for $600. I thought wow who would of thought that. Out of print, supply & demand = $$

      There is a download version?  How could we get one?

      I remember buying these paperback books from Jeff @ $12.95 each if we ordered at least 6.  I should have stockpiled them!  :darn:

      The only desk copy in my store gets used daily and has made me a lot of money.

      I would probably pay $149.00 for a new one, IF it had a hard cover.

Signed by who...? Jeff...  I'd rather have Steve Ebner sign mine!

The most epic find was when Slider Bob found a whole case of NOS Classic Soda Machine Books 3rd Edition.  He sold the quickly and a very fair price!

Wish the other book would have been printed... it would have had twice the machines in it...
so close....

        The book by Dan Kwate was large and completed, but ran short of funds at the publisher. Too bad someone didn't buy him out!

Ya, when I purchased my copy years ago, I had Jeff sign it.  We had done some "horse-trading"..... he was always a fair and pleasant guy to deal with.  I have one of Steve's guides too...might have to send it to him for a sig!  :happydrinkers:

Ok Glen glad you have it now.  It is a lot easier to have on the computer and having it handy on your phone is nice too. 

I wonder if Dan Kwate still has the material? A few people, if not just one person, could get together and get it printed.

I found a lady on ebay who had 10 NOS books for sale a couple years ago. I paid her, and they got delivered quickly. I contacted her again, and asked if she had anymore for sale. She said yes, 27 left for sale, so bought them all. Sold 35 of them in under 6 months...Only regret was I sold 10 to Alan youknowwho, and it took 6 months to get paid for them. I had to threaten legal action before he finally paid me. I kept 2 books...One for home, the other in my truck or at work.

It's funny how the book came out in 1999, that's 17 years ago and no one has put out anything since. I would have imagined the hobby (business) has grown since then. They were the pioneers of the hobby, a few friends out of California. Jeff Walters, Mike Page, Dan Cooney, Chris Davis, etc. They all saw something in these soda machines before anyone else did. I think they have all moved on to other things, except maybe Dan Cooney, he was known for restoring all the machines for Sharper Image, the high end retail store. Even Glen, Moondawg has been doing this for a while. Met him about 25 years ago and he already had his shop with Coke Machines. He said the first machine he ever bought and restored was a VMC 33. Man how time flies.
