Title: Wooden Oak Gumball Machine?
Post by: HowDueYouDue on February 19, 2016, 09:38:33 pm
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ORIGINAL-OAK-ACORN-GUMBALL-CANDY-NUT-VENDING-MACHINE-COIN-OP-10-CENT-/161977479110?hash=item25b69c2fc6:g:cOgAAOSwuAVWv8zJ

Have seen many Gumball machines over the years where someone takes a northwestern Gumball globe and puts it on an Oak body and the reverse. However, haven't seen this before. Sellers says "original" but seems like a homemade fix to me.

Anybody have one or seen one like this?

That is a homebrew.

It would have been cheaper to buy a globe than to go to all that trouble making that top.
And it looks like pine.. Would think they would have used....wait for it....OAK

Yikes, that's kinda ugly.

Ugly, but innovative. It doesn't go with any idea that I have when I think "gum ball".
Someone has a wood working shop and a lot of time on their hands.

Very curious. At least the globe retaining bits have been enshrined.

I agree with Eric, it should have been made from......Oak.

If it was legit bidding, sold for $26 and then another $25 to ship.
