Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: Creighton on February 01, 2016, 11:39:07 pm Crap is right. Think like three others surfaced since watching such things. This one by far the nicest. At $1200 well bought. Other than ads have never seen all three Canteens together. Candy/Peanut/Gum. Canteen retained ownership of all machines and the vast majority scraped after service.
Anyone happen to have a peanut one Ltransam gets first grab. I need a gum if any of those about, than the next peanut that turns up :-) Thanks for the post! Creighton Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: Slapshot42 on February 01, 2016, 11:59:38 pm Pic

Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: Creighton on February 02, 2016, 09:39:23 pm Were these red? Mine appears to be a tan spray job over a green.
The red does look nice. Creighton Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: BeaYoung on February 03, 2016, 08:31:36 am Looks like the mechanical workings are similar to the Stoner machines??
Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: Larry on February 04, 2016, 09:31:06 am Leonard,
I found a picture where the machines were mounted to your style of candy machine. As far as the red color, it could be original. The pictures I seem to find show either the machine as a solid red or the machine with a marbleized grain to them. Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: BeaYoung on February 04, 2016, 06:37:21 pm Thanks Larry... I just wanted one before, and now I NEED one. LOL. fun to have something new to look for!

Don Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: Ltransam on February 04, 2016, 08:49:40 pm Don Ah NO !! :tounge:  Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: Creighton on February 04, 2016, 10:29:07 pm The Canteen is one of the few of my toys that is a KITD. Keep It Till Dead :-)
Been busy with vintage drums of late but a nice tool to get all of the flappers clean and shinny is a large vibrating Tumbler. One of those items that Harbor Freight has that works fine. Using coupons can get one for not much. Recommend fine ground walnut shells from a gun reloading shop. Will post progress on my Canteen but will be awhile. Creighton Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: BeaYoung on February 05, 2016, 10:30:58 am Hey Leonard... could you please send me your address and any dates when you plan be away from home?
Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: MoonDawg on February 05, 2016, 10:44:33 am Creighton started another thread called collections for TV and this would be a great example!
An episode with this set of machines would be enjoyed by everybody......young and old. :happydrinkers: Title: Re: Canteen peanut, sold at Barrett jackson Post by: sodahunter on February 15, 2016, 12:13:59 pm Wow, these canteen vendors are neat. Where never on my radar...till now. :wow:
