Title: Royal crown coolerette stand
Post by: Jared on January 29, 2016, 08:46:34 am
Thought I would share this with the group. I finished this a long time ago. Always thought it was a neat way to display the picnic coolers.

Very nice.  It is a great way to display the picnic cooler.

That's awesome! Is it metal?

Fun-Tronics has a reproduction stand.  Is this what you used?

Yes Brenda it is metal, bought it back in day from vintage vending, painted both together to match.

I have an original Coca Cola coolerette stand. Back in the day they were really rare (priced accordingly)
The upside to these repros is that they are obtainable and you can make them match your cooler. Downside of course was the devaluation of the originals once these hit the market. We all take one for the team once in a while.
No worries though    :Oo:

I always thought these were a good idea.
The problem with most picnic coolers is they are too wide for a shelf, and too short to stand alone on the floor.

Know not of such things. Were the originals embossed?
Thanks!

I sold these 3 for a friend of mine a few years back. They are very cool. Like Glen said, really a perfect way to display a otherwise large cooler.  He kept one which he still has and it's a Coca Cola with embossed sides. Appears to be a original piece although I have never seen or heard of another one.

Very cool. Makes me want to pull out the picnic ones I have and finally get around to restoring them.

I do remember hearing that vintage vending made a bunch of these back in the day also. Heres the one I found many years back. This one has the bottle opener and cap catcher on side. It's an older restoration but still shows well.

Always looked for a embossed original coke, no luck yet

The originals were made by Acton Mfg Co and are embossed.
I started a new thread in the picnic cooler section and posted pics of mine.

No good way to display, has kept me from buying several really nice coolers....  Will have to start looking for stands!
