Thanks for the welcome.

I kind of figured that's what he meant with the picture of the sore back.

Since I'm new to the "vintage coke" machines, I'm still not sure what people collect these days. So, if and when I come across this stuff I'll post a link. You never know when one will be a gem.  8)

Tuffiron

I'm just messing with ya

We all appreciate when people post a lead on a machine, and thanks for that.

With regards to what people collect.... well, it differs with most, but one common thing is any round top machine (RT) there is a market for it.  Some worth more than others (ie a Vendo 83 not much value there, but a Vendo 81 has value and is very collectable)

Coolers are sought after by many people, bu typically the smaller variety.

Embossed coolers / machines are what people  look for.... but that's not to say that a NON embossed machine isn't worth anything... quite the opposite in some cases (VMC 81, 110, 88 etc....)

Wow, after trying to explain this, it's like trying to explain the rules of baseball to a newly landed immigrant from Europe lol.....  :darn: :darn:

What matters the most is if YOU like it, can afford it, can enjoy it, and it puts a smile on your face... then it's a good machine for you.

Unless I win the Powerball tonight, ( 1.3 BILLION which will be close to 2 billion in Canadian lol)  no one here is going to retire from their machine collection any time soon.
So get the machines you like for as little as you can

One can't retire from their collection??? Does this mean I still have to go to work everyday? Why didn't someone mention this sooner??? :darn:

Yep, I bought my powerball tickets already too.

As for the value of machines, I recently acquired a Vendo 39 (I posted some pics in the "Pre 60's column).

I just received all the parts to restore the old girl (with the exception of the drum) and will post pics of the process.
