Title: CRAZY 88's
Post by: BONOVOX on December 24, 2015, 01:55:02 pm
Ok, so here are the two 88's that I picked up the other day....
The pepsi is a REALLY nice original, better than I even could have imagined.... and the Coke had on older resto, that is not good at all, so it will be done one day.

Thought I would also post a pic of all the embossed 88's produced.... not sure if a pic of that even exists lol.....

Thanks all for the RAM 1500 help by the way....

P.S.  If anyone ever comes across a generic 88, please let me know.

The picture of the 3 is priceless. Never seen all 3 at once. I like the 88 because it's so symmetrical. I'm going to start looking for the generic today.

That is a great picture. Kinda makes me want one. Can they all accept 12oz bottles?

Yes they can, and if I'm not mistaken, they can vend cans too (modification?)

Like mentioned earlier... I love the 88's for the large embossing, and centered door.  Yes, the not so popular Vendo 80 has the centered door as well, BUT the embossing is larger AND it came in Pepsi and 7up.

Ed, do you have a VMC 72? That is kind of a underrated machine. Embossing is killer, great looking and somewhat tough to find. That is a machine that I have never owned.

Yes, I do have a VMC 72 ( a very very nice original that I bought a few years ago...)
I do think that its a very underrated machine too, and yes, not that easy to find (not as easy as say as a VMC 44).....

I remember checking once which embossing is bigger the Coke 88 or the VMC 72... and from what I remember they were the same.

The only VMC machines that I'm missing (from the 110 and lower size lol) is the 7up 81 and the generic 88....  Although I like the VMC machines larger than 110... I gotta stop somewhere
Oh and a VMC 27 pepsi embossed... but I don't think I'll ever find one.

Awesome collection of 88s! I believe that Coke was at Dixie gas the last two years. It finally traded hands this fall. Do you have any pics of a generic 88?
