Title: pepsi 81
Post by: smith on November 24, 2015, 10:18:30 pm
Hello guys need to get some information. My Pepsi machine will not turn off. I have it for 25 years, bought it restored, had a lot fun out of this machine. I turn it on for two weeks, twice a year.
My wife wanted to put beer in it for Thanksgiving, but it will not turn off. I notice at the condenser the main tube to the right of it, has a little frost on it. I have it on the 4 setting it got down to 34. Do you think it may low on freeon? Thanks Mike

Mike,

Behind the t-stat bracket there should be a very small adjustment screw.  Turning it either "clockwise", or "counterclockwise" will change the cut in or cut out temperature inside the machine which will determine when you compressor cycling off and on.

It's best to have a thermometer to make this adjustment.  There are also contact t-stat's were the probe touched the cabinet, and a non contact t-stats so you want to make sure you know which one you have installed on the machine.

This is only a starting point, but start there...

A nickels worth of free advice,

Testing Thermometer

Thanks for the reply. I order the tester. I have another question, what will happen if I let it run all day, for one day? I don't need a major problem. Thanks Mike
