Title: Pepsi CV-78
Post by: ajf5577 on November 21, 2015, 06:52:13 pm
I have an opportunity to pick up a Pepsi CV 78. Walters shows a CV 68 in his book. I assume that this one holds 78 bottles. Same case dimensions as the CV 68. It's electric vend, two selection. Everything seems to be there.
Does anyone have any info on this the 50's Choice Vend machines?

Whenever I see something like this there is s ridiculous price attached to it!

I don't think it a pot a gold and a high dollar machine!  Very cool though and would be be neat to own for the extreme soda enthusiast!

Yes, it's the one pictured. The tag says model V 78. The round sign lights up and there are indicator lights. It supposedly vends ( haven't seen it yet) and cools. Its in the $1200.00 price range.

Like any machine you want all the parts to be there... but on a machine like this, missing parts are VERY hard to get.

make sure it's all there

Unless you like the machine I don't think it has any collector value? With that being said price seems very high.

Interesting machine. Would love to see pictures of the inside when you get it.

That light-up Pepsi lens and the Star on the front is cool.

Main thing is, as long as you like it.

I picked up the CV78 today.  The bezels are pot metal with hammertone paint.
I posted elsewhere asking about water transfer decals. The difficult part is the interior metal door. It's edges are exposed to the elements and are rusted pretty badly. The rest of the machine is complete and decent.
The lights are cool. The mech is interesting. It will only take nickels or dimes, but will give a nickel change. The green light on the front specifically says " do not use quarters", which must be on all of the time.
