Post by: ajf5577 on September 25, 2015, 07:39:46 am
Does anyone have a copy of the 3rd edition available? I can't find mine.

There was a discussion here about a year ago, the book is being re-printed but you have to buy it with Rick Dale's picture on the front.  :darn:

No updates with the Rick Dale version, so if you are expecting 2014 or 2015 prices in it or added machines it ain't happening

The 3rd Edition is a great book. I still always reference mine. Pricing is a little dated but the rest of the book is not.

Roger at crowriver.com has copies for sale. He has the first, second, and third editions available.

Thank you everyone for the replies.
Crowriver.com shows them out of stock.
I'm not sure that I'd like a copy with Rick Dales pic on it. I'd rather find my original with Jeffs autograph in it.

The prices aren't really relevant any more, but the pics and info is worth the price of admission.

I don't want to start anything because I have been out of the loop but, How did Rick Dale's picture become the front cover of the 3rd edition?

Are the prices / descriptions the same, or did Rick go through and make changes???

It looks like everything is pretty much the same, they just changed the cover.

Wow...that's kinda lame.  Would have been nice to update the pricing and add new discoveries since the 3rd was last printed.

Not really, they screwed it up some! Look in the index for the most controversial machine in the country........... the Vendo 81 is misspelled!.

I didn't notice on the copy that I looked at, but is the forward by Jeff thanking everyone and the "about the author" section still in the "Rick" version?

Rick is a hack. Everything he touches is the same, even books.

Except a Vendo 39 that somehow he managed to turn into a Cavalier 72.

The 39 was too far gone, so he used parts from other machines to give it a "new" look. That was great.
I wonder if my 110 could be turned into a Mills 45 ?

Yes it can. The parts you may need will be found in milk crates underneath tables at flea markets

That's great to know . I am going to turn my V23 into an embossed coke slider and put Ricks picture on one side and Jim's avatar on the other .

Hey Great! Then maybe you can take it to Vegas and get on Pawn Stars with it.
