Post by: ld26 on September 19, 2015, 12:17:30 pm
started a tradition last year of bringing out one of my machines to use for our annual block party, everybody always gets a kick out of it, this year I'm gonna use the mission slider I picked up a few months ago

Killer!... Never know... someone may show up and say.. "Hey I have a old cooler like that".... Doesn't hurt to advertise and get the word out
and is awesome to let them see some use.. That is a nice one... Don't see that one everyday...

You gonna charge to let them see the rest of the museum?

Nice house with a nice setting and having that cooler sitting out there like that makes it look really fun.

Well nobody showed up saying they had one in their basement but few people commented on how cool it was and the kids liked getting soda out of it,

One guy down the block said he works in construction and sometimes finds old machines in the basements of the buildings they are working on, he said they usually scrap em, brutal, he said he'll bring them to me next time, hopefully one day ill get surprised with something good

Scrap 'em!? How brutal is that to hear... Well I hope he finds you a killer one of a kind one.
Probably brought back a lot of memories to some. Our youth group had a old Pepsi slider
I remember getting sodas out of... Grape and/or Orange Crush ice cold... it was awesome!

Awesome!
Imagine if he knocks on your door and says he found a RC 81 !  If so, you would have to throw a THANK YOU block party!

That's a pretty cool idea, and what a great way to introduce the "young-uns" to a piece of history that can be alive for them.

And.... Advertise that you'd be the guy to tell about the old Cooler in Aunt Tilleys garage.

We just had an outdoor Packer Football Party on Sunday Night , projector in the backyard, cold beer/and pop served out of my Westy Jr and also out of my Glasco 50.

People get a kick out of seeing these old machines in service!

sorry no picks of cooler, just backyard

sorry to hack your thread LD..

That's great to have the old machines out there, I have always wanted to pick up a slider for that reason, just wheel it out of the garage for a party.

On a somewhat related note, I used to do the outdoor projector thing often and took an old aluminum cooler and put in an amp, dvd player, OTA tuner, and speakers so I could just throw it in the truck and setup the projector where ever there was a plug.  I might need to break it out again for some scary movies this Halloween.
