Title: 3 of a kind Post by: coke_and_stuff on September 06, 2015, 09:31:39 pm Picked up another 7up 81 yesterday 22 hr round trip total left home at 3am and got home at 1 am, well worth it! It looks to have been painted green with a mop but is a straight solid old machine. the white one on the left and the green one were built 12 machines apart.

Title: Re: 3 of a kind Post by: Eric on September 06, 2015, 10:42:47 pm How cool is that to have machines probably being built the same day/week... Nice find Joey... You've had a great 2015!!!!
Title: Re: 3 of a kind Post by: FRESNO MAN on September 07, 2015, 07:25:34 am The embossing (or is it dembossing?) on the middle one looks different than the two that flank it. Do my eyes deceive me?
Title: Re: 3 of a kind Post by: Eric on September 07, 2015, 07:30:06 am The seven bubbles aren't painted on yet.. I think just the shape (rounded corner square) is embossed with the 7UP debossed into that..
the bubbles are just painted on. (No embossing or debossing on the bubbles) Title: Re: 3 of a kind Post by: johnieG on September 07, 2015, 07:31:38 am Awsome!

Don Title: Re: 3 of a kind Post by: coke_and_stuff on September 07, 2015, 08:50:08 am Green machine is right as rain! It being painted with a mop and sloppy tape job around the embossing throws it off.

Title: Re: 3 of a kind Post by: Creighton on September 12, 2015, 06:36:59 pm Hey Joey,
Great score! Interesting the two paths taken by the same production line machines. Like mop jobs when it is latex. Motsenbocker's Graffiti Remover will get latex and rattle can enamel off and not hurt the original baked enamel (if you are careful :-). Keys in two out of the three, always a plus. Thanks for sharing your finds!! Creighton |
