Title: Westinghouse wc78md
Post by: keithm on March 20, 2005, 10:03:14 pm
I am looking for some guidance. I have a westinghouse wc78md. It has been painted gray by a previous owner. When I plug it in, it lights up and starts to run.  I can't tell if it is cooling, but I have gotten a bottle of coke to drop down after a coin was inserted.  I have only made general inquiries about having it restored, but it seems to me that the machine has no real value. I say this because it seems that the cost to restore is very close to the cost of a restored machine. I would like any opinions on that and any suggestions on what to do next with my machine.

Thanks

Well, beauty & cost effectivness is in the eye of the beholder, Yes, a decent paint job would set you back around $250-300. if you did all the prep. work yourself, pulled the mouldings, bezels. & did the required body work, & turned it over to your local paint-jobber, these Select-a-Vend machines seem to go for between $350.00 up to $500.00 range on Ebay, the smaller WC60MD may pull a bit more, & the larger WC102MD, like mine on the lower end...(Bigger isn't better in the world of soda-machines) But hey... I like 'em, so if you're near Michigan...drop me an email... if it were a personel project (keeper) I'd put the money into it, for resale...well, as stated above... ???

The MultiDrinks are great machines.  For resale reference, here's a nice WC78 on ebay.  No bids yet.
