Title: Money found in old machines Post by: RustyGold on April 30, 2015, 08:34:42 am Has anyone found really old or even rare/valuable coins in their machines? My father taught me as a kid (early 1980's) to pick out the silver coins in my change and put them away. Back then, you might have a silver coin in a handful if you looked carefully. Not true anymore of course, but maybe still true in the coin box of an old soda machine. Come on fess up!

Didn't find anything of real value; what was cooler was that keys from other machines I have worked in these.

or nickel when given change I put them in one of my gumball machines... The penny one is getting pretty full as I've been doing it for years now... lots of wheat pennies. For some reason I have had more luck finding coins in jukeboxes than soda machines.
Title: Re: Money found in old machines Post by: coke_and_stuff on April 30, 2015, 02:06:32 pm I was working on a Coke 6CV one time and pulled the door liner off, it had over 30 silver dimes between the insulation and the main door. Someone was pushing the dimes in the main door latch. One of my better finds.
