Title: VMC 33. screws
Post by: Gmari2 on February 14, 2015, 05:46:43 am
Can anyone spare some clutch head sheet metal screws, probably #6 or #8 x 3/16" sheet metal?  I could use 6.  They secure the painted plate that surrounds the selection lever on a VMC 33 D.
Thanks for any assistance.  PM me if you have any to spare. Gmari2@verizon.net

FYI, My local Corvette restoration supplier carries them as they were also used in many automobiles from the 1950's , they even carry them in stainless steel.      just an alternate source for our hobby.  :upside:

Hi George,

Johnnie is right - The Chevy's used a 7/16" #8 clutch-head sheet metal screw.  Here's a good example:

Haven't tried them myself but will probably order some to replace the rusty ones on my 44.
